Suffolk Wildlife Trust

vacanciesin.eu

Suffolk Wildlife Trust is the county’s nature charity – the only organisation dedicated wholly to safeguarding Suffolk’s wildlife and countryside.

The Trust recently led a successful bid for project funding as part of the Government’s Landscape Recovery Scheme that supports the delivery of projects that restore nature,
reduce flood risks and boost biodiversity.

As project officer of this exciting Landscape Recovery pilot project, you will have a unique opportunity to help us to realise our ambition for a wilder Suffolk working collaboratively with the Stour Valley and Wool Towns farmer clusters.

Across a two-year project development period, supported by the project manager and external consultants, you will deliver a range of work designed to create an implementation ready, landscape scale, nature recovery project.

The project spans some 20,000ha of farmed land, enhancing and connecting woodland habitats and improving landscape resilience and farm sustainability.

You will work closely with a group of landowners and managers to understand the baseline
environmental situation and develop the long term land management plan needed to take the project
forward into a 25-year implementation phase.

This is a unique role and a rare opportunity to help us deliver a major project that will make
a huge difference to nature.

Although based at Brooke House, Ashbocking some home working and flexibility can be considered.
The nature of the project means that you will be spending time at project sites in the Stour
Valley in Suffolk and North Essex

It is a 24-month fixed term contract and may be suitable for a secondment.
