The Position

In this role you will drive change to defeat serious chronic diseases in line with Novo Nordisk purpose, by establishing Novo Nordisk Portugal as a trusted partner committed to advancing overall health in Portugal.

You will:

-Influence and shape public policies to create a favorable business environment that benefits society, patients, and Novo Nordisk

-Develop a network of stakeholders to co-create value and generate third party support in addressing an increasingly complex, science-driven, diverse and interconnected external environment

-Collaborate strategically with patient organizations to boost their advocacy efforts 

-Safeguard our license to operate and manage strategic partnerships to address social and environmental challenges, positioning Novo Nordisk as a responsible and more sustainable business driven by its history, governance, and corporate initiatives.

Qualifications

-A relevant bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Public Relations, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field is required.
-A master’s degree in Public Affairs, Public Administration, Health Policy, Environmental Policy, or a related field would be advantageous.
-Minimum 5 years’ experience in public affairs, healthcare policy advocacy, or government relations, ideally within the healthcare sector 
-Strong stakeholder management skills being proficient in building and maintaining relationships with policy makers, patient organizations, and healthcare opinion leaders.

-Effective analytical skills and political acumen with in-depth understanding of public policy and decision-making processes in Portugal

-Ability to connect the dots and translate evidence into effective policy positions and advocacy (in collaboration with other functions).

-Strong interpersonal and communication skills

About the Department

You will join a dynamic and diverse team, that is responsible for a spectrum of activities from public affairs, patient relations, communication, and sustainability. In close collaboration with other internal and regional stakeholders our goal is to deliver meaningful and impactful public affairs strategies and tactics to drive change and make a difference for patients.
