About you and this role

Dow has a unique opportunity for a Regional Corporate Investigator for EMEAI, located in Central Europe. This Investigator position within Dow’s Corporate Investigations Group (CIG) reviews and investigates independently allegations of reported misconduct that, if substantiated, would constitute a violation of Dow’s Code of Business Conduct. This includes but is not limited to potential violations such as Conflicts of Interests, Fraud and Corruption, Bribery, Asset Misappropriation but also supporting investigations into other compliance and conduct violations in the region. The Regional Corporate Investigator also supports training and outreach activities, audits and provides investigative advice and guidance to other functions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement investigative plans. This may include e-discovery initiation and reviews, examining documents and other evidence, clarifying processes, public media and database research, site visits, subject and witness interviews, etc.
  • Prepare high standard investigation reports and provide recommendations for improvements of control shortcomings.
  • Deliver presentations to relevant Employee Review Meeting (ERM).
  • Participants during their decision-making process on investigative findings.
  • Conduct and/or manage simultaneous investigations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Manage internal and external resources supporting investigations (e.g. Security, HR Partners, Subject Matter Specialists, Consultants).
  • Closely liaise and work together with the assigned case attorney, HR Partners, involved functions, the Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC), as well as Management and Regional Ethics and Compliance Committees.
  • Support and implement investigation trainings, including presentations and workshops.
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with partner functions including Human Resources, Legal, Ethics and Compliance, Security, Internal Audit and others to enhance teamwork and collaboration.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in law, business, accounting, finance or related fields.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or willingness to enroll and prepare for the CFE exam.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in criminal, financial or employee investigations preferably in an international corporate or institutional environment, or in a (forensic department of a) big audit/investigations firm.
  • Professional fluency in English and at least one other language (Dutch, French, German, Spanish).

Skills

  • Proficient and experienced with investigative techniques.
  • Proficient and experienced conducting subject and witness interviews.
  • Experience with use of data analytical and document review tools and handling evidential material.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including drafting concise high standard factual findings reports. Comfortable and able to communicate effectively on all levels.
  • Being a fast learner to quickly grasp and understand internal business processes and internal controls and identify gaps in investigations to mitigate risks.
  • Comfortable in a diverse multicultural and fast paced (corporate) environment.
  • Strong personality demonstrating independence, integrity, and objectivity; not being influenced by various stakeholders and avoid bias whilst at the same time being able to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
