Accounting & Finance | Ireland | Contract | € 75000 – € 80000Sanderson are partnering with a Reinsurance Group to recruit a Reinsurance Operations Team Lead to facilitate the seamless operation of our Reinsurance Accounting Team. This role offers a hybrid working model based in the Dublin office.The ideal candidate will possess robust communication and organisational skills, demonstrating self-motivation and adeptness in prioritising diverse tasks. The role entails coordinating and overseeing the Company’s reinsurance operations while diligently managing various finance-related duties.Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Company’s reinsurance accountants, overseeing contract bookings, cash transactions, and claim notification processing.
  • Collaborate with finance team members and counterparts in Ireland, Bermuda, and the US to fulfil regular responsibilities and segment-wide initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of excellence within the reinsurance accounting team, emphasising the highest quality technical data.
  • Set and monitor performance goals, conducting formal performance evaluations for the team.
  • Ensure accurate and timely capture of reinsurance accounting transactions in compliance with relevant deadlines and SOX requirements.
  • Provide support to internal and external auditors as needed.
  • Lead internal projects related to reinsurance transactional data, system migrations, or enhancements.
  • Assist with the integration and development of external initiatives such as electronic data interchange.
  • Support finance project work, initiatives, and implementations.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a finance manager with strong people management experience.
  • Extensive operations experience.
  • Knowledge of SQL/database coding and Reinsurance Accounting systems an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products with advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to deliver results under deadlines and competing objectives.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to engage with a diverse audience, including senior management and technical experts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of functioning within an international team.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle personal and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proactive mindset with a bias towards action and self-direction.
