Research Associate

About the role
In this role you will work as part of a project commissioned by the Leverhulme Trust entitled ‘The Rural Racism Project: Re-storifying Life in the Countryside’. You will work collaboratively and independently as part of a research team to achieve defined milestones and to produce high quality research which generates new, co-produced knowledge about the nature, extent and impacts of racism experienced within the English countryside. 
Your role will enable you to apply your research skills and expertise in fulfilment of one of the project’s key work packages, taking responsibility for examining historic, cultural and symbolic expressions of racism within rural environments.

About you
With a PhD in the social sciences, arts or humanities or the equivalent professional qualification and experience, you will have expertise in the representations of racism and exclusion as well as experience of engaging with diverse communities. You will be able to evidence contribution to peer-reviewed journal papers or equivalent, as well as the co-production in research design and/or dissemination. 
We are looking for someone with great communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team, including internal and external stakeholders.
