Salary:  £30,487 to £38,205 per annum, depending on skills and experience (minimum £33966 with relevant PhD).

We are looking for a highly motivated researcher to assist the Principal Investigator (PI) of a Leverhulme Fellowship research project entitled ‘The anatomy of consumer decision making in the era of pervasive analytics’. The project will explore the effects of analytics and AI on consumer decision making. The project lead/PI is Prof Andrew Smith – Chair of Consumer Behaviour & Analytics. The post is within the N/LAB trans-disciplinary research centre. The role holder will:

  • Be conversant with experimental methods in behavioural science and be able to analyse and visualise data using advanced quantitative methods.
  • To plan and conduct research using recognised approaches, methodologies and techniques in behavioural and social science – to include effective sample recruitment and administration.
  • Write up research work for publication and/or contribute to the dissemination resulting in successful research outputs.

Wider expertise in terms of social, psychological, neuroscience and behavioural science methods and knowledge will be very advantageous. The research design will be co-created within the team and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute.  The post holder will be expected to recruit and administer a cohort/sample for the study (n100+). The role holder will be responsible for writing up work for publication in collaboration with the PI and other researchers and will be credited as an author. The person appointed will have the opportunity to use their initiative and creativity to identify areas for research, develop research methods and extend their research portfolio. 

This post is available on a fixed term basis until 30/06/2024. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours)
