An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and energetic Retail Assistant/Designer in a renowned leading builder’s providers and DIY store. You would initially primarily be based within the showrooms, with the opportunity to move within the store to other areas as and when required.If you have experience in design or sales, are enthusiastic & customer focused, and want to work with a friendly, knowledgeable team of professionals, we’d like to hear from you!This is a great opportunity for an experienced candidate to join a company celebrating over 40 years as the leading provider of building, trade and plumbing products in the southeast.MAIN TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:This challenging role will require the successful candidates to build effective working relationships with customers, to identify sales opportunities and achieve both sales and margin targets. You will also be responsible for guiding clients from initial consultation to final design, understanding their requirements and budgets, while achieving the highest level of customer service.You will report to the retail manager. This is a full time position and will involve working 39 hours per week. You must be available to work Sunday to Saturday inclusive and on bank holidays as required.Duties· You will be responsible for engaging customers to proactively generate customer leads and enquiries.· Understanding the customer needs and generating creative ideas and solutions that fulfil their requirements.· Liaising with customers from the initial meeting through to completion.· Producing accurate quotations in line with customer’s budget.· Up selling our full range of products and services.· Learn and utilising design software to create detailed and accurate design plans.· Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.· Maintain showroom standards throughout the displays to ensure we are well presented at all times as well as maintaining and updating point of sale information.· Taking personal responsibility for resolving customer issues pre-sales and post-sale in a timely fashion.· Merchandising and maintenance of all categories of stock.· Processing Cash/Account counter sales.· Keeping up to date with new products and product knowledge.· Assisting with stock takes as required throughout the year.· You will be required to be flexible in this position and must be prepared to undertake such other work as may be assigned to you by the company from time to time.Requirements· Your role will be customer facing and you will need to have excellent communication skills.· Knowledge of software design is a distinct advantage i.e., ArtiCAD, AutoCAD, etc, however full training will be provided.· Ideally a minimum of 3 years of retail/design experience.· High level of attention to detail and an eye for design.· Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales.· Excellent computer skills.· A proven ability to be able to organise your time in a busy work environment.· You possess and radiate a high degree of energy and can work towards goals without constant supervision.· Must be efficient with a proven track record in meeting deadlines.· A hunger to excel at sales with a proactive and dynamic sales approach.
