As a newly qualified GP within 2 years of qualification, you will undertake a variety of duties governed by the GMS contract to include:
- Face to face consultations
- Telephone consultations
- Visiting patients at home and in nursing homes
- Checking and signing repeat prescriptions
- Dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence as required
- All aspects of clinical administration

- The following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
- The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
- The provision of services commensurate with the primary care contract
- Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
- Effective management of long-term conditions
- Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
- Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
- Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
- Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
- Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice.
- Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and training
- Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
- Prepare and complete the revalidation process
- Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
- Adhere to practice protocols and policies
- Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, always promoting a culture of continuous improvement
About usWe are looking for a salaried GP for 4 sessions per week, on duty until 6.30pm with an additional session per week extended hours until 8pm. Please note these sessions may be split across two practices working in the same health centre (Farnworth Family Practice & Figtree Medical Centre)As the lead employer – Farnworth Family Practice is a training practice consisting of 2 GP partners, 1 salaried GP, 1 GP Trainee, 1 practice nurse, 1 healthcare assistant and administration staff. Our current practice list size is approximately 4300. We are a well performing practice. We are rated Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). - The applicant must be a qualified GP with full GMC registration licence to practice.
- The applicant must be active on a performers list and have a UK drivers licence.
