Insight is seeking a skilled SAP Optimization & Governance (SAP O&G) Executive Consultant to support customers in optimizing their SAP software investments, ensuring compliance, and maximizing value from their licensing agreements. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP license management, strong analytical skills, and the ability to guide customers through complex negotiations and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Software Asset Management & Optimization:
-Plan and execute software asset management (SAM) and software license reviews to assess customer compliance with SAP licenses, agreements, and contractual terms.
-Conduct detailed evaluations of SAP license agreements, pricing structures, deployments, consumption, contracts, and amendments to ensure alignment with general licensing policies.
-Perform license entitlement reconciliations to identify over- and under-licensing, conducting a gap analysis between owned licenses and actual usage.
-Identify opportunities to optimize SAP license usage, limit financial and compliance risks, reduce costs, and enhance overall license efficiency.
-Provide best practices and strategic guidance to help customers streamline licensing models and improve cost efficiency.
Strategic Advisory & Negotiation Support:
-Assist customers in complex SAP deal negotiations, offering guidance on negotiation tactics and purchasing strategies.
-Conducting workshops with different customer’s stakeholders (IT, Procurement, etc) to understand future business and technology plans.
-Advise on SAP governance and communication frameworks to ensure customers achieve business objectives while maintaining clarity on responsibilities and expectations.
Client Engagement & Business Development:
-Engage with customers during pre-sales activities, identify challenges and needs, and establish clear project scope to create proposal and/or statements of work (SoW).
-Develop and own the pipeline strategy for SAP Optimization & Governance (O&G) solutions.
-Build and maintain strategic relationships with key and prospective customers, introducing them to other Optimization & Governance (O&G) practices of Insight.
-Continuously update and align the SAP O&G solutions portfolio with evolving customer needs, ensuring a competitive consultancy practice.
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing:
-Act as a trusted advisor to cross-functional teams, collaborating with local Account Teams and Solution Sales Managers to drive business growth.
-Mentor, coach, and guide SAP O&G consultants, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional development.
-Deliver marketing activities such as creating social media content, speaking at industry events, and representing the organization as a subject matter expert in SAP O&G.
-Establish and nurture partnerships with software inventory tool organizations to enhance SAP O&G capabilities.
Qualifications & Experience:
-Deep understanding and experience of SAP Agreements, Licenses, Pricing, Licensing Policies, (including up to date knowledge of S/4 Transitions (e.g. RISE) and SAP Digital Access) and high-level understanding of SAP Product portfolio.
-Expertise in SAP software asset management, license compliance (SAP Measurement Tools), and cost optimization.
-Experience supporting complex SAP licensing negotiations and engaging with key decision makers (senior level management).
-Strong analytical skills.
-Demonstrating extensive client facing experience.
-Experience of working within globally diverse environment team.
-Professional level of written and spoken English.
-Experience with Software Inventory tool is a pre.
