What is the opportunity?This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment as an important member of the team responsible for providing corporate governance, secretarial and advisory services to the Board and Board committees of New Ireland Assurance Company (NIAC) & Bank of Ireland Mortgage Bank (BOIMB) and Bank of Ireland Group. Working in this environment will provide the right person with the opportunity to broaden and deepen their skills and their financial services experience.In this role you will:
- Supporting the Company Secretaries and Assistant Secretaries in planning and organising Board Meetings including organising clear and appropriate papers;
- Supporting all aspects of the work of key Board Committees involving planning, organising and attending meetings, organising clear and appropriate papers and preparing detailed fit for purpose minutes;
- Maintaining schedules of topics and action logs and following up to ensure that all decisions are implemented;
- Supporting the Board members with their travel requirements as required;
- Support the relevant secretaries to ensure the Board is aware of and stays in sync with applicable company law and corporate governance requirements;
- Supporting the annual effectiveness evaluation process for the Board and committees;
- Work with the wider GS&CG team in fulfilling the broader accountabilities of the office, ensuring information is shared as appropriate; all activities are coordinated as appropriate; and that the team is aligned in terms of the approach to and execution of tasks.
What will make you stand out?
- Experience working in a company secretarial capacity, ideally including financial services experience;
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with high impact and well-developed influencing and partner management/engagement skills;
- Ability to manage multiple demanding initiatives concurrently, balancing multiple priorities and completing tight timeframes;
- Strong planning and organisational skills;
- Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
While not crucial to apply the following would be a strong bonus;Knowledge of Diligent Board Portal softwareEssential QualificationsThere are no specific qualifications or minimum educational requirements needed for this role.More about the teamThe Group Secretariat & Corporate Governance (GS&CG) function is responsible for enabling and supporting the effective and efficient governance framework of the Group, through the Board of Directors, Group Executive Committee, and subsidiary boards.
