Senior Coastal Change Officer – Engagement

We seek an experienced and inspiring individual to lead on the development, co-ordination and
delivery of innovative stakeholder planning and engagement activities across the Changing
Coasts East Riding project.

Changing Coasts East Riding is part of the national Coastal Transition Accelerator Programme,
supporting vulnerable communities in planning for and responding to the impacts of coastal
change. This role provides an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of climate change
resilience within East Riding of Yorkshire.

You will use your creative flair to plan and co-ordinate our programme of engagement with
business, industry and community groups to promote greater environmental resilience. Your focus
will be to maximise the impact of the project through innovative engagement techniques and
materials, frequently adapting and applying learning as the project progresses, alongside
managing changing priorities and stakeholder relationships. You will also use your experience
and passion to reflect and share learning from engagement activities to inform the monitoring,
evaluation and learning theme of the Changing Coasts East Riding project.

As a coastal champion, you will work with internal colleagues, partners and communities to
develop a new, long-term approach to coastal transition within East Riding of Yorkshire, while
actively supporting communities to deliver on-the-ground adaptation.

We seek an individual who can think innovatively, forge excellent relationships with a range of
people and organisations and deliver an ambitious programme of work on time. You should have
experience of working with a range of stakeholders (including public, private and community) to
deliver a programme of successful community engagement.

Based at County Hall, Beverley for 37 hours per week working 5 days out of 7 as part of a fixed
term contact until 31 March 2027 due to temporary funding.
