The Position

Senior Consolidation Analyst

Job Summary

Company:

On March 28, 2024, Imerys Group (www.imerys.com) published a press release announcing it has entered into exclusive negotiations with Flacks Group for the contemplated divestment of its assets producing kaolin, ground calcium carbonate (“GCC”), precipitated calcium carbonate (“PCC”), and talc, which primarily serve the paper markets in North Americas, South America, Asia and Europe.

The future company formed by all these industrial sites, kaolin mine, port and logistic hubs is foreseen to start its operation under a new brand in the course of 2024. It will offer mineral solutions for industries worldwide. Currently serving mostly the paper and board markets , the new company will use its global footprint, unique assets and longstanding know-how to develop new business opportunities and foster innovation. Sustainability is a core value of this company.

With an annual revenue of around 350 million euros in 2023, this activity will employ about 1000 employees. The Company needs to reinforce the existing teams to operate as a standalone organization but also to meet its ambitious development plans.

Context:

€400 million in commercial revenues. International presence (40 sites in 16 countries)

Implementation of a new consolidation and reporting architecture

Role Overview: Responsible for the group’s consolidation and reporting process

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the monthly consolidation process for a global scope of approximately 25 entities in 16 countries
  • Manage consolidation processing for specific operations such as acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, etc.
  • Serve as the technical reference for accounting matters; update IFRS requirements
  • Implement and continuously improve consolidation and reporting tools
  • Identify opportunities for process and control improvements; drive the standardization of processes for all activities within the scope
  • Ensure the translation of Group accounting strategies into local requirements
  • Tax missions: assist with the analysis of corporate balance sheets, ad hoc analysis such as CSRD, transfer pricing, management fees, additional tax reporting
  • Manage reporting activities during off-peak periods

Qualifications/Experience:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in Consolidation/Reporting within an international group and at least a first experience in an industrial environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge in Consolidation and Accounting (statutory/IFRS/GAAP), practices, standards, laws and regulations, tax calculations, process improvement design and implementation, and controls
  • Minimum of a MSTCF / Master in Accounting
  • Experience in corporate tax matters is a major asset
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
  • Strong organizational and autonomous skills, curiosity, initiative, adaptability, and dynamism; a team player
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills
  • Software: SAP BFC, Magnitude, Google Suite, Microsoft 365

This position requires a person capable of handling both complex consolidation tasks and specific tax missions, with the ability to proactively identify and implement process improvements.
