The role

In this role you will act as the delivery lead for our IBM license and commercial advisory services engagements. 

Responsibilities:

With a focus primarily on large corporate customers across EMEA, you will work independently and as part of a team on various IBM projects and take on responsibility in Software Lifecycle Management (SLM) projects and managed services. In this role, you will help our customers understand software licensing models and identify potential for improvement, taking on the following tasks:

  • You will identify Software Lifecycle Management (SLM) requirements of our existing customers with the SoftwareOne sales team.
  • With our customers, you will develop and implement suitable SLM services to solve problems and optimize their software asset landscape.
  • The focus is on software compliance, audit support, process and cost optimization, software spend management or software portfolio management or SAM.
  • As a trainer for IBM licensing topics, you inspire and hold IBM licensing training for our customers.
  • You recommend suitable best-practice methods to our customers for dealing with software license procurement.
  • You like to publish licensing changes and or hot topics through different media channels, by writing regular blogs and/or articles.

What we need to see from you

Candidates are required to have 5+ years of experience with IBM software license management and a strong knowledge of IBM software licensing across multiple OS platforms, IBM software applications, IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT), and Flexera.

The role demands experience in leading a remote team to perform IBM software license entitlement analysis, IBM software license baselining, and advising end users on housekeeping and license optimization.

Proven track record in leading meetings and discussions with product administrators to present reports and answer IBM software licensing queries. Additionally, you should be able to lead meetings and discussions with high-level executives independently.

Whether you have gained experience in IBM software licensing (ILMT, PVU, VPC, etc.) through a successfully completed degree, a completed apprenticeship or through your very own career path – important is that you are passionate about complex IBM licensing challenges and have knowledge / experience in in the following areas:

  • You have sound knowledge in the field of
  • IBM software license entitlements rationalization
  • IBM software components bundling and exclusions analysis.
  • IBM software license consumption rationalization
  • IBM License Metric Tool / Flexera technical and functional management
  • Professional experience in the field of Software Asset Management (SAM), Software Lifecycle Management (SLM) or Software Managed Services.
  • Working knowledge of ILMT reports and ILMT web console.
  • Working knowledge of other 3rd party tools, i.e. Flexera, Snow to gather IBM software license reports and to interpret these reports.
  • Perform QC of other team members deliverables related to IBM software license management.
  • Excellent communication as well as negotiation skills.
  • Experience in consulting, as well as acting as a trainer and holding licensing training for customers.
  • You are business fluent in English
