Meaningful Work From Day One

The Senior Director – Global eCommerce & Inbound drives thought leadership and strategy to grow our eCommerce business across key channels and link eCommerce practices to inbound channels (search, CRM, social & own properties). The Director role is part of the Brown-Forman Centre of Excellence (COE) and brings broad experience and understand across different eComm RTM (omni, pure players, quick commerce, DTC, B2B), working closely with our media, performance & content roles to ensure eComm practices are embedded across disciplines, builds an ongoing culture of learning and optimization.

This is an office/hybrid role based out of our fantastic modern office in Fitzrovia in central London.

What You Can Expect

Global Subject Matter Expert on eCommerce & Inbound

  • Sets goals and “size of prize” expectations for our eCommerce business globally and shapes our roadmap on how to focus & prioritize resources to achieve this, engaging with stakeholders at all levels to align our eCommerce and Inbound agenda.

  • Develops & recommends changes to ways of working, structure, resources and capability to support our eCommerce growth strategy and integration of eCommerce strategy across the business.

  • Develops processes and frameworks to drive clarity and consistency of eCommerce planning to deliver brand growth strategies.

  • Drive new business development in emerging spaces for the on-demand delivery channel including partnerships with restaurants, retailers, and other manufacturers.

  • Identifies the most effective combinations of media, inbound and content to drive maximum eCommerce traffic and sales, piloting and scaling the adoption of evolving trends such as growth of social commerce, retail media and new eComm channels

  • Drives consistency and best practice to holistic search & social channels, developing global frameworks and partnering the markets in implementation and performance optimisation.

  • Supports & guides global teams in developing owned channels strategy and operational support, ensuring properties deliver seamless consumer experience and enable our eCommerce and data capture ambitions.

Provides consultancy & support for market based IMC, Marketing & Sales teams:

  • Leverages global best in class thinking and subject matter expertise to support development of key country eCommerce plans,

  • As part of the Global Integrated Marketing Communications CoE develops the community sharing and continued learning for the IMC group around the world.

  • In conjunction with the Digital Capabilities Manager and the CoE develops the IMC capabilities framework and supporting training materials for both marketing & sales organisations. We believe “Leaders teach” so this will also include delivery of eCommerce training programs to the markets.

Common eCommerce metrics and reporting:

  • In conjunction with Global Digital Performance Director and IMC leaders and sales teams develop common global eCommerce evaluation protocols and metrics, uncovering and finding solutions to reporting and data challenges.

  • Is a thought leader on evidence based eCommerce research in terms of eCommerce effectiveness considerations by type of channel, type of format, type of content etc.

Sets Guidelines & best practice for Key Global eCommerce Relationships:

  • Captures best in class learnings, provides guidance and as needed partners sales & eComm teams in delivering JBP with key partners & platforms.

  • Understands future strategy of key media partners around the world in eCommerce such as facebook, instagram, you tube, google, To ensure we get the best value from these relationships this role will develop key contacts and understand how best to use their tools and resources to drive our eCommerce sales.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Significant experience working client and/ or agency side in media and marketing disciplines including management of multi-country eCommerce plans.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in eCommerce is a must for this role gained at an international FMCG company, an agency, an eCommerce company.

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking across media, social, on-line video, CRM, search, web-site, data and analytics, content and eCommerce.

  • Significant overall knowledge of eCommerce and “hands on” experience in running eCommerce programs.

  • Strong understanding of marketing principles and brand growth strategy.

  • Evidence of impactful Strategic thinking and complex project management within an eCommerce / communications environment.

  • Experience in working with large media and creative agencies across markets.

What Makes You Unique

  • Experience working across markets in eCommerce / consumer communications for an international company.

  • Background living and working in different markets (International career track).

  • Ideally a candidate will have a combination of client and agency / eCommerce experience or have extensive experience in eCommerce management at the agency side.

  • A career track that has included brand management, insights, communications or another core marketing discipline in addition to eCommerce would be a strong plus.

  • Managing a team of direct and indirect reports.
