Our mission is to work side by side with our customers in order to improve patients’ lives by bringing new biopharmaceuticals to market.JOB SUMMARYThe Senior EHS Specialist will be responsible for parts of the EHS program and processes in cooperation with the EHS Department and other relevant stakeholders. The EHS specialist is a subject matter expert for relevant EHS areas depending on competences and will within these areas provide expert technical guidance and ensures regulatory compliance.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive EHS programs and policies in compliance with EU, Danish and local regulations.
  • Conduct complex risk assessments and EHS audits, identifying potential hazards and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Support in performing EHS risk assessments of new customer projects.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation in the EHS program.
  • Develop and deliver advanced EHS training and educational programs to employees at all levels, promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Investigate and analyze incidents, accidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing strategic corrective actions.
  • Maintain and oversee accurate records of EHS activities, incidents, compliance measures, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management to integrate EHS considerations into operational processes, strategic planning, and project execution.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive EHS reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders, ensuring transparency and compliance.
  • Analyze and evaluate EHS performance to identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and support the organization and serve as a subject matter expert.
  • Participate in maintenance and improvement of the EHS management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001), including robust EHS procedures and processes.
  • Develop and implement EHS programs in support of site EHS requirements, EHS indicators, and global EHS goals.
  • Ensure alignment with company EHS and business objectives and initiatives.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior EHS team members, fostering professional growth and development.

QUALIFICATIONSRequired:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent related science field with equivalent related experience in environment, health and safety.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in EHS from working in Denmark.
  • Experience from process industry or biopharmaceutical or chemical industries is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of EU, Danish, and local environmental health and safety laws and regulations.
  • Familiarity with ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO50001 management systems.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects effectively.
  • Computer proficiency in software applications for analysis, reporting, and presentations.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and be on-call as necessary to support operations.
