This Finance and Grants Officer consultancy role is preferably based in Turkey or the Middle East in the first instance and also open to candidates in the UK and Globally. This consultancy is a remote working contract with regular visits to partners’ offices and meeting when required.
The daily rate for this role is $250 USD, based on the Consultant working 18 days per month.

About the role
The consultant (Senior finance and Grants Officer) is expected to support the Middle East team to deliver programmes relating to resilience and human rights in line with the regional programme strategy. With support from the Middle East Finance Manager and Finance and Compliance Officer as well as the Turkey and Syria Earthquake (TSEQ) Response team, the incumbent will lead on financial management, reporting and compliance for Christian Aid’s (CA’s) work in Syria, including the TSEQ response. The role will involve acting as the focal point for ensuring strategic grants are utilised to benefit communities in the Middle East, lead on financial & budget planning in the programme cycle and will ensure that partners are supported with financial management in the project cycle. This consultancy will also ensure compliance with CA and donor regulations by providing guidance on and oversight of financial transactions and ensuring that financial systems and processes are adhered to in line with policies, within timelines agreed.
About you
You will have significant experience in similar positions working in INGOs, NGOs or non-profit sector in the fields of humanitarian and development. Strong knowledge and demonstrable experience of financial standards for institutional donors (for example UN agencies, ECHO, FCDO, USAID, DEC or ACT Alliance) with strong experience in managing and dealing with large scale budgets. You will also have excellent English language skills and proven ability to communicate well and ability to maintain excellent relationships with partner staff and colleagues.
