Position overview

We are looking for an experienced colleague to join us as Senior General Ledger (GL) Accountant. You will be responsible for the maintenance of GL and Sub Ledger accounts and Month-end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries and reports, and maintenance of internal financial controls. You will also gain valuable insight to the accounting process through the daily exposure and interaction with finance team.

Responsibilities
-Plan and perform month-end closing activities based on the agreed checklist; in charge of complex accounting processes for a specific countries;
-Review accruals / adjustments are done in the prior month end, chase up invoices and post appropriately to align with accruals;
-Prepare reconciliations and obtain approvals in accordance with accepted requirements, follow-up and resolve reconciling differences;
-Ensure that documentation for the respective activities are updated when required to comply with Corporate Internal Control requirements and become the back-up for the team members agreed per plan;
-Ensure proper escalation of issues to GBS A2R Team Lead, A2R Supervisor, Finance Manager, Controllers, Corporate Finance;
-In-depth knowledge of General ledger processes in order to be the mentor and be able to provide the training to Junior accountants when required;
-Support Team lead in people development.

Required skills and experience
-Education preferably within the fields of Accounting, Economics, Finance;
-3-4  years of experience in a financial environment;
-Good communication skills in English both verbal and written;
-Proficiency MS Office and experience with ERP systems;
-Experience in SAP, BlackLine, BPC considered as an advantage;
-Overall knowledge of IFRS / local requirements;
-Comfortable with the role of promoter / facilitator, easy talking with the teams; 
-Ability to meet strict deadlines with accuracy, highly organized and motivated;
-Able to multi-task and able to prioritize appropriately;
-Able to work in a dynamic environment and produce work of a high quality and integrity.
