You will be focussed on helping our clients drive performance across a range of diverse sectors such as finance, industrial, manufacturing, transport, oil and gas, infrastructure, chemical, construction, aviation, local and central government.As part of our Environmental team, you’ll help improve quality of life. With your specialism in environmental management, or your technical or sustainability expertise, your work could involve protected species, pollution, surface water and materials management, air quality or noise. And in some of the world’s busiest and most beautiful locations.We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. Around the world, we’re feeling the effects climate change, rapid urbanization, loss of biodiversity. The rate at which we’re seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires, is becoming more frequent. We are here to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generationsRole accountabilities:Role responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Producing and reviewing human factors work outputs of a high technical quality.
  • Leading and managing packages of work, commercials and general consultation activities.
  • Working directly with clients and building customer relationships.
  • Supporting business developing activities such as attending client meetings and writing proposals.
  • Engaging with a range of stakeholders within Arcadis to help influence other disciplines to understand the importance of human factors.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience of working in safety critical industries such as rail, aviation, energy, military, nuclear (a range of sector experience is preferred).
  • Either chartered/registered, or working towards becoming chartered/registered with a professional body, e.g. the Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors, British Psychological Society
  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (preferably Ergonomics, Psychology or Systems Engineering)
  • Strong knowledge, skills and experience in the area of human factors.

Desirable:

  • Experience of the following human factors methods: task and workload assessment, human factors integration, cognitive ergonomics, physical ergonomics, environmental design, organisational behaviour.
  • Experience is also preferred in human reliability, control room design and operations.
  • Experience is also preferred in commercials and general consultation activities.
