Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities:

This is an excellent opportunity to take on an exciting role within the Programme & Policy Department/Programme Management Team

We are looking for a talented individual to lead the change process following the launch on the new CARE International UK strategy and its focus on enabling local leadership in humanitarian and development action.

The Senior Local Leadership Advisor will work with the Head of Programme Management and the Senior Management Team to implement the required changes to CIUK’s ways of working, roles and responsibilities to achieve our ambitions to become an organisation that prioritises local leadership. This includes supporting the roll-out of new business models, monitoring and learning from these pilots and using learnings to analyse and propose how roles and responsibilities at CIUK should change.

In addition, the role holder will be an effective team member and committed to tackling discrimination and structural inequality and promoting CARE International’s Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and Child Protection policy with team members and in day-to-day practice.

About you:

We are looking for disruptor who will challenge the way CIUK and CARE have worked in the past. You will be an experienced individual, able to analyse how CIUK and CARE are currently delivering their programmes and, suggest changes that will support local leadership and work with the Programme Department teams to implement them.

You will be comfortable establishing constructive relationships with a range of colleagues in CIUK and CARE from practitioners to leadership. You will also be an excellent communicator sharing the new CIUK approaches with the rest of the CARE Confederation and with the wider sector.
