Project Overview:

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility.

This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come.

We invite you to join our team for this very interesting opportunity!

This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations at 10 CFR Part 810 (Part 810), which govern the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas.

Job Summary:

The Senior Planning Manager is a senior field planning and scheduling leader responsible for directing day-to-day construction planning, schedule development, integration, maintenance, analysis, and performance-monitoring activities for assigned project areas and execution scopes on the Poland AP1000 Project.

Reporting to the Field Scheduling Manager, the Senior Planning Manager leads a significant portion of the field planning and scheduling organization, including Bechtel planners, schedulers, and contractor planning resources. The role supports the Field Scheduling Manager in establishing and implementing effective planning and scheduling processes, organizational capability, governance, and execution discipline throughout all phases of construction.

The Senior Planning Manager works closely with Construction, Engineering, Procurement, Startup, Project Controls, and subcontractor leadership to ensure construction work fronts are executable, interfaces are effectively managed, schedule performance is understood, and recovery actions are developed and implemented when necessary.

The position will be based between the site and the Gdansk project office.

Major Responsibilities:

Planning Leadership & Team Development

-Lead field planning and scheduling teams, including area planners, schedulers, discipline planners, and contractor planning personnel.
-Provide direction, coaching, mentoring, and performance management to planning staff across assigned construction scopes.

-Lead the development, integration, maintenance, and performance monitoring of detailed construction schedules for assigned project areas and work packages.
-Ensure construction schedules are aligned with engineering deliverables, procurement commitments, material availability, subcontractor activities, testing, commissioning, and startup requirements.
-Maintain schedule integrity, baseline control, and compliance with project controls, progress measurement, forecasting, and earned value requirements.
-Ensure schedule logic, milestones, coding structures, durations, and progress measurement practices meet project and corporate standards.

Construction Execution Integration

-Partner with Construction leadership to translate execution strategies into practical and achievable construction plans.
-Integrate planning activities with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP), workface planning, short-interval planning, constraint management, and other execution methodologies.
-Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Safety, Startup, and subcontractor teams to ensure workfront readiness and resolve execution constraints.
-Support development of construction sequencing, turnover strategies, access plans, milestone planning, and overall schedule optimization.

Contractor & Interface Management

-Establish and communicate planning and scheduling expectations for subcontractors and construction partners.
-Review contractor schedules, forecasts, progress updates, and recovery plans to ensure compliance with project requirements and alignment with the integrated project schedule.
-Lead schedule coordination meetings and facilitate effective collaboration between construction, engineering, procurement, startup, and contractor organizations.
-Identify and mitigate schedule risks related to engineering releases, materials, labor availability, subcontractor performance, and field execution.

Schedule Analysis, Forecasting & Recovery

-Lead schedule analysis, forecasting, trend monitoring, and performance assessments for assigned construction areas.
-Identify critical-path impacts, schedule risks, emerging trends, and opportunities for improvement.
-Develop and evaluate schedule recovery, acceleration, mitigation, and resequencing strategies in collaboration with Construction leadership.
