Purpose Statement
Supervises, leads, and provides technical direction to a group of technicians and/or entry-level engineers. Devotes a portion of time contributing to the technical responsibilities of the department.
Key Responsibilities
-Assists manager in providing guidance and training to staff, developing subordinates to attain career goals, motivating individuals to achieve results, and recruiting and maintaining a high quality staff.
-Works with manager to establish department goals, objectives, and budgets.
-Assists manager to plan resource needs and hiring for department.
-Leads engineering teams to the successful completion of PD project goals.
-Works with manager to ensure execution of the functional deliverables associated with the PDP/TDP, Project Management, and Quality Systems.
-Successfully completes Process Development engineering project work for new product development.
-Prioritizes and manages execution of multiple projects.
-Maintains and enhances cross-functional team relationships.
-Works cross-functionally in identifying and resolving engineering issues.
-Ensures policies and processes are followed.
-May serve as core team member on new product development teams.
Experience & Qualifications
-Requires a minimum level 8 qualification in a relevant Engineering / Science degree.
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
-Ability to work as part of a team and meet targets/goals efficiently.
-Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
-Demonstrated decision making skills.
-Minimum of 5+ years’ experience within a manufacturing environment.
-Key Decision Maker and ability to drive innovation.
-Excellent understanding of financial acumen.
