Job PurposeWe are looking for a motivated engineering professional to join our Team in Krakow Engineering Center. As a Senior R&D Electrical Engineer, you will be working on design, development and qualification of new topside and subsea technologies (active heating systems, subsea power distribution, electrical protection).Job Description
- Analyzing of topside and subsea power systems (power distribution of medium and low voltage systems, steady state and transient analyses, electrical protection, power electronic converters)
- Defining or customizing electrical component testing procedures of subsea assets as per existing codes and TechnipFMC internal design practices for subsea electrical assets
- Taking part in creating of electrical specification and sizing of topside and subsea components (cables, splices, transformers, switchgears, connectors)
- Following up suppliers throughout the design, manufacturing and FAT process and supervising qualification testing campaigns with contractors and/or test labs
- Contributing to the mechanical integration of electrical components in subsea assets and structures
- Supporting R&D tasks related to topside and subsea networks in combination with active heating solutions and other subsea infrastructure components
- Consolidating component and system level design guidelines, qualification and industrialization dossiers, related method statements in close relation with other development and project support teams
- Supporting technical queries from Regions related to subsea technologies (e.g. active heating technology promotion and implementation during FEED and tender phases)
Requirements
- Master’s Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Strong fundamentals in Electrical Engineering / Mathematical / Physics area
- Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience
- General knowledge in subsea engineering, SPS or/and SURF
- High level of autonomy in task execution
- Experience in communicating with clients, business teams and management to collect requirements, describe product features and refine technical designs
- Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written
- Openness to travel to other TechnipFMC locations and vendors (for testing, development, qualification of new components, meetings with client and subcontractors)
- Experience in intellectual property and publications issues for technological developments will be a plus
