The team is responsible for developing bespoke software to support Product Control, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Treasury and Finance departments of EDF Trading.Position purposeThe team’s core responsibility includes developing and enhancing bespoke systems and integrations into third party systems. These systems bring together energy commodity trade and market data to calculate and report P&L, position, market and credit risk metrics. The team focus is on delivering such solutions that are the best-in-class and strategically alignedAs such the role requires the ability to understand a complex system landscape and its functional capabilities and boundaries. It is essential to have a thorough understanding of P&L, Position and Risk concepts and principles.. The role involves understanding the business needs, defining the scope, documenting high level functional designs, and to help shape, mobilise, clarify and support projects and BAU activities in this complex business area.Experience required
- Minimum of ten years working with Product Control and Market Risk functions within in a large-scale fast paced trading and risk environment – preferably within an investment banking, commodities trading house, tier one ETRM software solution provider or energy consultancy.
- Detailed understanding of energy commodity fundamentals including different trades types
- Detailed working understanding of how P&L is calculated for energy commodity linear trade types
- Awareness of P&L calculation for energy commodity Options
- Ability to fully breakdown P&L explain into various components and show cashflows for the explain
- Proficient in application of SQL and APIs for complex data analysis and troubleshooting
- Ability to understand a complex system landscape and its functional capabilities and boundaries
- Experience of capturing complex requirements in a clear, concise and testable way
- Experience of developing high level functional design documents
- Familiarity of Agile Scrum/Kanban methodology

Hours of work:8.30am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday however flexibility required.Place of Work:EDF Trading has a flexible office/remote working policy. This role requires a minimum of three days per week in our London office.
