As part of Digital, Robotics and Enabling Technologies, our Clinical applications team provides high quality software to ease and improve the pre-operative flow of surgeries as well as ensuring the link with core technology from products across Stryker including surgical robotics, image guided interventions, mixed reality solutions and patient specific implants.

We are looking for an ambitious and self-motivated application software engineer. You will contribute to design, develop, test, and validate novel software components and applications, leveraging core technologies within Stryker and novel techniques. You will have the flexibility and communication skills to operate effectively with other teams across Stryker.

What you will do:

  • Design, develop and validate novel software applications from proof of concept to product in alignment with requirements and architecture defined,

  • Work closely wit software architects to contribute to technical choices used in the solutions,

  • Independently make design tradeoff decisions while designing multiple components of the system,

  • Establish a working relationship with other groups across the organization to successfully implement business and clinical requirements while applying the latest available tools and technology,

  • Ensure on-schedule delivery of high-quality products that meet technical requirements,

  • Apply strong understanding of clinical procedures to enhance product development.

What you will need:

  • Master’s degree in software engineering / computer science or related discipline,

  • 2+ years of work experience in software development field,

  • Strong experience in C++ development using libraries for image processing, mesh processing and 3D visualization,

  • Experience in complex platform architecture definition,

  • Experience with Qt or equivalent for UI development,

  • Experience in cross-platform development of applications for Windows, Mac and Linux,

  • Experience in software platform development from proof of concept to high quality product,

  • Knowledge of agile software principles and software development life cycle in a domain with strong regulatory constraints,

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English,

  • Experience in web-based development using WASM or similar technologies would be appreciated,

  • Experience in medical software development would be appreciated.
