Job description
We are seeking a Senior Energy Strategist to play a pivotal role in shaping the long-term energy strategy and portfolio construction. This position involves modelling energy markets, assessing emerging technologies, and influencing stakeholders to drive the successful implementation of our strategic goals.Key Responsibilities:
- Develop long-term market scenarios and assess their impact on our portfolio.
- Update existing models and challenge the status quo to refine or replace current strategies.
- Evaluate emerging low- and zero-carbon generation technologies and their potential integration into the wider business.
- Understand competitive drivers and their impact on our business.
- Track portfolio performance and report on progress against our sustainability goals.
- Lead projects and collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop positions on technical and policy-related topics.
- Engage with external stakeholders and industry bodies to advocate for policies that align with our Net Zero strategy.
- Ensure consistency in messaging and alignment between strategies across business units.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the energy sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of the energy market and regulatory environment in Ireland, the UK, and the EU.
- Strong modelling and analytical capabilities, with a solid grasp of financial and commercial acumen.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence key decision-makers.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
