If you’re a Senior Supplier Manager with risk, controls and ESG experience, we’d love to hear from you! We’re looking for a phenomenal communicator with superb communication skills. You’ll have excellent leadership and operational change skills required to support OVO’s growth objectives, including new, greener energy options which could bring sophisticated supply chains, exposing us to unknown risks and markets. This role is critical to enhance levels of internal controls. You’ll be an empathetic but tenacious negotiator who knows the right approach in a range of circumstances. Another key result is driving value through our strategic and critical supplier contracts. You will be experienced in handling contracts, contract change and delivering value opportunities.

This role in a nutshell:

Reporting to the Head of Supplier Management, you’ll be working as part of the centralised supplier management team. As a senior Supplier Manager you’ll be accountable for maturing levels of supplier controls to reduce risk and support our teams in driving value and maximising improvement opportunities from OVO suppliers. You’ll play a key role in embedding the new supplier resilience and ESG framework into every day working practices across the organisation whilst leading with post contract management of OVOs strategic suppliers that are vital in helping OVO to achieve its goal to power human progress with clean affordable energy for everyone. No two days will be the same in this dynamic environment and you can make a real difference in a way that we grow our partnerships.

Your key outcomes will be:

  • Accountability for and management of OVOs Supply Chain Resilience/Controls Strategy and Framework
  • Lead on OVOs Sustainable Procurement Strategy and maintain a framework to improve ESG governance, drive and refine supplier controls and progress OVOs Plan Zero agenda with suppliers
  • Monitor day to day contract performance from suppliers to ensure contractual protection from OVOs strategic suppliers to reduce value leakage, mitigate risks and collect service credits for any non performance.
  • Capitalise and takes the lead on opportunities to enhance Supplier Management governance, systems and data. Challenge with fresh thinking and play a key role in driving improvements of OVO Procurement & Supplier Management enablers.
  • Contribute towards the development of a Supplier Management tool that will automate monthly and quarterly business reviews to enhance both business and suppliers experiences whilst optimising resource requirements
  • Support and produce data and regular leadership briefings articulating performance and risks of OVOs Operations suppliers, lead regular business reviews with accountable execs and strategic suppliers to review performance, drive value, encourage innovation and explore joint (I.e Go To Market) opportunities.
  • Create and maintain a Supplier Risk Register tooling and Dashboard with a view across all partner functions per supplier and per risk. Report and interrogate data. 
  • Report against internal and external metrics and regulations including the impact on OVOs business objectives.
  • Lead on in-life contract variations and changes to commercial terms
  • Drive the value proposition during the life cycle of the contract, looking at new opportunities to drive cost efficiency and recovering service credits/rebates in good time.

Ideally you’ll have:

  • CIPS/MCIPS or CCMA qualified in a senior supplier/contract management role, risk management and supplier resilience roles
  • Experience in leading and developing risk management approaches in a sophisticated organisation
  • Familiar with managing and measuring sustainability performance 
  • The ability to effectively source and manipulate data, turning it into important outputs
  • Strong emotional intelligence
  • Comprehensive experience across all relevant procurement categories (hardware, cloud computing, data, software and professional services)
  • Comfortable proposing, initiating and implementing change in a constantly evolving environment
  • Great presentation skills
  • Excited about forming relationships,
  • Confident in negotiation, facilitation and conflict resolution
  • In-depth understanding of all aspects of contract management including contract terms and conditions, in-life variations, negotiations and contract law.
  • Experience in delivering cost efficiency, process improvements and additional benefits
  • Experience dealing with ambiguity, embracing change and decision making with confidence

We’ll pay you up to £67,000, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!
