We employ intelligent thinkers – people with positive attitudes, who add to the quality of our customer proposition and business.We value individual endeavour and initiative and encourage teamwork and togetherness because collective experience and expertise are VIRTUS’ greatest strengths.Job SummaryAs the Senior Treasury Analyst you will assist with all aspects of cash management for the business, including cashflow forecasting, liquidity management, funding & equity/capital planning, debt management and relationships with the key financial institutions, for both the UK and as the Group expands into Europe. The overriding objective is implementation and adherence to policy and developing appropriate Treasury strategies in a business that is growing and evolving rapidly.You will report to the Senior Treasury Manager and work collaboratively with the Treasury Team in STT GDC in Singapore.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe role includes but is not limited to the following: –
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports on the Group’s cash position. Work with company’s business units (AP, AR & Cost Management) to prepare weekly cash forecasts and other cash and borrowing projection models; coordinates with teams to identify and mitigate forecasting variances. Work with FP&A on developing operating cash flow forecasts, enhance visibility into global cash balances, optimize working capital and establish metrics/key performance indicators.
- Daily bank postings and bank reconciliations across multiple Group companies, bank and currencies including allocating other receivables/payables to the correct ledger code and the set-up of non-supplier payments such as quarterly interest. Investigate and resolve any reconciling internally and externally, adhering to month-end cut-off schedules for reconciliations of all cash-related accounts, all month-end processes and all related journal entries.
- Utilising the cash flow reporting to determine the level of both monthly debt funding and equity funding including the full administration of debt funding draw-downs notices, and quarterly interest notices, and the coordination of equity notification and issuance documentation. Management of surplus liquidity including mitigating interest expense by repaying debt or investment of excess cash with Treasury approved deposits.
- Assist with proposing short- and long-term intercompany settlements and transactions to facilitate the bi-monthly payment runs and short-term cashflow requirements for the Group companies including funding of pre-paid company corporate cards.
- Work with treasury management to maintain and rationalize the company’s choice of key global banks including the analysis of bank fee structures, services, relationships, credit levels and counterparty credit quality/exposure. Maintain positive banking relationships with depository banks. Act as main treasury liaison with the company’s business units in setting up new banking accounts (including SAP integration), services, mandates & signatories and handling bank inquiries and related matters. Maintain a comprehensive tracker for Bank Mandates, KYC and Bank Account Management. Develop, monitor and analyse bank fees including credit card and cash management expenses. Acting as first point of contact for request liked to online banking platforms/payments to ensure an efficient payment process. Preparation of “Know Your Customer” (KYC) process and reporting for all banks and debt facilities.
- Co-ordinate with other departments (e.g., audit, financial reporting, FP&A) to prepare shareholder/ investors reporting for month-end / quarter-end, covenant reporting, monthly development updates to Lenders and ad-hoc information requests as needed.
- Assist the Senior Treasury Manager with the company’s hedging program, execution of bank guarantees, foreign exchange transactions, debt financing and re-financing exercises & other discrete projects. Maintain central repository of Treasury instruments including derivative instruments, bank guarantees and debt drawdowns/repayments.
- Assisting with preparation for year-end audit and interacting with auditors as required.

What success looks like in 12 months’ time:Working closely with the Senior Treasury Manager to build out the VIRTUS Treasury function to ensure it is fit for purpose as the Group expands both in the UK and Europe. Look to develop efficiency & automation in all areas of the role and pro-actively instigate change and best working practices, effective controls and documentation of processes.Person Specification
- Educated to degree level.
- Newly qualified ACA/ACCA and or ACT qualified or equivalent.
- Strong practical knowledge of treasury processes and controls, and interest in continuous process improvement/optimisation
- Good communication skills and comfortable with regular exposure to senior management
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular excel
- Ability to contribute to and work well with the team.
- Planning and organisation skills and able to prioritise to meet deadlines and cope with fluctuations in workload.
- Highly organised and high level of attention to detail.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and demonstrates strong ownership of tasks.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with SAP S-4-HANA accounting system advantageous.
- Familiarity with data centre sector or other technology/capital intensive businesses advantageous.
