Further information on SK pharmteco can be found atCurrent Need:The SK biotek Ireland team here at the Swords Campus are looking to recruit a SHE Specialist (Environmental & Sustainability) on a permanent basis reporting to the Environmental and SHE Systems Manager. The successful candidate will primarily provide environmental support for operations at the Swords manufacturing facility but will also be expected to actively participate in and deliver support on health & safety programmes that support the business.They will also ensure that the Environmental Management function is maintained on an on-going basis in conformance with the Environmental Management Standard ISO 14001, Industrial Emissions Licence, maintenance and Corporate and Customer Requirements. They will also act as the SHE SME for Sustainability matters – lead sustainability initiatives, collaborate with on-site teams to develop and implement sustainability strategies, track, analyse, and report on sustainability metrics and advise on the latest sustainability trends and compliance requirements relevant to site operations.Position Description:The successful applicant will be located at the Swords site, and will have the following duties:

  • Monitor the Swords environmental & sustainability programmes to ensure compliance with all applicable licenses, government regulations, customer and company standards and values.
  • Identify, compile and submit any regulatory reporting requirements within the required timeframes.
  • Act as the site’s Environmental contact for new product introductions, change controls and project activities and ensure the site meets its compliance obligations.
  • Conduct site compliance audits & inspections, report results and track to closure. Analyses data to identify areas for continuous improvement and develops strategies to deliver continuous improvement.
  • Act as the lead on-site environmental contact for all onsite environmental Audits (both internal & external).
  • Lead and/or support the investigation of any environmental incidents /non-compliance events on site.
  • Act as the site SHE coordinator and technical SME for any environmental/sustainability projects.
  • Compile and report on-site Environmental & SHE metrics. Identify trends and implement improvements.
  • Manage / coordinate all Environmental monitoring/sampling on site and the documentation of all associated results.
  • Act as the main SHE point of contact for waste management issues and liaise with the site Waste Broker.
  • Ensure all environmental & sustainability programmes including documentation is up to date and compliant at all times. Develop & deliver environmental & sustainability training to all employees.
  • Builds relationships and influence with key departments to foster support for Environmental & SHE programmes.
  • Identify & deliver environmental & sustainability improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Assist in the management of ISO45001 Safety Management System and provide support and back-up to the wider SHE team.
  • Other duties as assigned to support site SHE programmes and ensure that the required level of service is delivered to support Departments.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years professional experience in managing safety, health, & environment programmes.
  • An undergraduate/post-graduate qualification in SHE.

§ Deep knowledge and understanding of environment regulations/environment compliance reporting.§ Mindset of continuous improvement, proactive, pragmatic and results/performance focused.§ Innovative & curious. Comfortable with complexity and demonstrated problem solving skills.§ Passionate about SHE, energetic and brings a strong work ethic and focus to their work.§ Developed teamwork skills. Ability to manage several projects and prioritise tasks correctly.§ Excellent communication skills: including written, verbal, presentation and training.We would prefer you to have:§ At least 2 years relevant experience in an EPA regulated facility.§ Specific experience in hazardous waste management or other professional EHS trainings or certifications is a plus§ Compliance background in medical device, manufacturing, chemicals, or pharma is advantageous.§ Experience of working under the following accreditations is a plus: ISO17025, ISO50001, ISO45001, ISO14001.This is a permanent role.
