Shift Manager – NightsAre you a confident and proactive leader with a passion for driving operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment?We’re looking for a Shift Manager to take full ownership of shift performance across our client’s food manufacturing site based in Co.Louth.In this role, you’ll lead a team of 40-50 employees across production, dispatch, and stores—ensuring seamless operations, maintaining high standards in quality, safety, and compliance, and delivering against key business KPIs.Shift Pattern: This is a night shift position where you must be available to work 5 days a week from 23:00 – 07:30, most likely Sunday to Thursday.Competitive salary on offer for the right candidate!Responsibilities:
- Take charge of all on-shift operations across the entire site—from production lines to facility management.
Monitor and meet production targets while minimizing downtime, changeovers, and waste.React quickly and effectively to issues like equipment failures or supply shortages to keep things running smoothly.Lead, coach, and support a large and diverse team, ensuring staffing is optimised and team members are engaged and high-performing.Conduct pre-shift briefings and regular performance reviews.Ensure products meet all internal and external quality standards, taking swift action to correct any issues.Enforce food safety, hygiene, and regulatory compliance (e.g., BRC, HACCP, GMP).Conduct in-shift quality checks and compliance audits.Champion health and safety on your shift, conducting risk assessments and safety briefings.Investigate and report incidents and near-misses, ensuring corrective actions are followed through.Use data and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement.Collaborate with other departments (Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain) to drive efficiencies and pilot new processes.Lead and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving efforts.Provide clear and insightful shift reports, with analysis of performance metrics.Ensure smooth handovers and effective communication with other shifts and departments.Requirements:Proven experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing or food production environment.Strong understanding of operational efficiency, food safety, and health & safety standards.Ability to manage large teams and make confident, data-informed decisions in real time.Track record of driving improvements in performance, quality, and team engagement.Qualifications or training in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar (nice to have)Hands-on experience with compliance standards such as BRC, HACCP, or GMP.At Quorum Search Partners we respect your privacy.
