Role Summary:
As Ship Structures Senior Specialist, you will be part of the Global Technical Support Ship Structures Specialized Ships Team.
You will work in a team of Engineers, supporting through technical expertise both internal and external Clients in the Marine and Offshore Industry, reviewing Structural Design of Specialized Ship Structures.
Having a passion for your discipline, you can further enhance your expertise in the field and share it with our clients. A tailored development plan will be put in place from the start of the journey with LR.
In this role you will need to have like working both independently and as part of a team, as well as represent Lloyd’s Register in meetings with clients both in the office and at Site.
You will have also the chance to have projects leading role, being Ship Structures Discipline Lead or Design Lead of Marine New Construction Projects.

Key Responsibilities:
The key element of the scope of this role is to use your expertise to perform assessments and provide solutions to problems that internal and external clients are facing.
-To perform complex assessments and provide specialist advice for service delivery, research or development work within agreed broad parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements.
-To produce the deliverable within the agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format and take responsibility to review other employee’s work as requested..
-To discuss / present the deliverable with the internal / external client at a senior level and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate..
-To make recommendations based on internal / external client feedback to assist in service delivery improvement and to help build the business.
-To contribute to internal / external client management as appropriate.
-Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness.
-To undertake project management where applicable including monitoring project progress and spend against budget and contract requirements.
-To mentor / coach other technical employees to achieve effective technical knowledge transfer and application.
Required Qualifications:
-Minimum 6 years of working experience in the Ships / Mega Yachts Structures Design is the target experience for the application
-Degree or equivalent from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd’s Register within the relevant field of engineering.
-Membership of an appropriate professional institution.
-Working towards achieving Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status
-Excellent command (written and oral) in English language using relevant professional terminology Demonstrable understanding of the Project Management process, gained through experience and training

-Displays a team spirit, particularly in a multicultural environment and ability to work both independently and as part of a team with colleagues in person and around the world
-Responds positively to learning opportunities and is comfortable stepping out of own comfort zone. Has willingness to learn new programming languages and frameworks as needed (training and mentoring will be provided)
