Minimum qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a 1-year Master 2 or a 3-year engineering degree in Computer Science or a related technical area for the 2024/2025 academic year.

  • Admitted in the curriculum of a CFA (centre formation d’apprentis) and university or engineering school.

  • Ability to speak and write in English and French fluently to communicate with English and French speaking colleagues.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and within a team framework.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguous tasks, find suitable solutions, and seek advice where appropriate.

  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and organization skills with a proactive, positive attitude.

  • Passion for new technologies through personal projects and commitment to learning new skills.

As a Software Engineering Apprentice, you will join the apprenticeship program of a CFA (centre formation d’apprentis) and university or engineering school, and work part-time at Google. We offer apprenticeships for either Master 2 students in Software Engineering and Computer Science (1 year long), or students of a 3-year degree of an engineering school (bac+3 to bac+5).

You will get exposure to a range of different roles across the company including coding, development, testing and project management. Additionally, you will learn how to apply problem solving to take on real life challenges, pick up new technical skills such as programming in multiple languages, learn about software testing, other industry practices, and see how software is designed and developed.

  • Support your team in the development of software based on agreed projects and platforms.

  • Follow application and component level design working to standards and patterns agreed on by the team leads.

  • Follow coding standards and ensure compliance with quality measures.

  • Ensure code is tested in accordance with the guidelines provided by the team or your host.

  • Undertake training and follow mentoring as specified.
