About the Role:

Sitting on the Products Legal Team and reporting to a Products Legal team lead, this is an exciting opportunity for a solicitor to join a legal team working in a dynamic area to support AIB Group in the design, delivery and lifecycle of its products, its regulatory implementation projects and in achieving its strategic ambitions. 

This role involves supporting product-owning units such as Accounts, Payments, Cards, Mortgages, Mortgages;  Lending Products; and Digital. It also involves engagement with a wide range of governance and regulatory/business committees. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

The Products Legal Team provides legal support on:

-Product Design
: All aspects of AIB Group’s product design, including the contractual documentation entered into by our customers in connection with a product.
-Product Delivery:
How AIB Group’s products are delivered to our customers (e.g. e-signing, internet/mobile app screens, customer communications, product governance).
-Product Life Cycle
: All life cycle events that arise during the life of those products (e.g. account maintenance, account migration, customer communications, regulatory breaches, restitutions, product governance).
-Legal and Regulatory Change
: The impact that any legislative or regulatory change, case law and other material developments with legal impact on AIB Group’s products.
 

The Products Legal team supports in these areas by identifying legal risks and assessing solutions to navigate and mitigate these risks. 

What you will bring:

-You are a qualified solicitor/barrister, authorised to practise in Ireland, with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE banking law experience.
-Experience on business or regulatory implementation projects, general contract law and e-commerce is of benefit. Data protection experience also desirable.
-The candidate will also need to demonstrate that they are commercial and pragmatic in their approach, has strong prioritisation and stakeholder management skills.
