Job Description:The Tech & Data department (~200 employees across the globe) provides products, services, and support to all SCOR Group worldwide. Its 2 key challenges today are to successfully implement its new Target Operating Model (TOM), to be supported by an ambitious pluri-annual internalization plan to deliver innovative products and services to its clients.The Tech & Data organization is an Agile matricial organization relying on 4 pillars:

  • Data and System Engineering, made of the following teams : Data Center of Excellence, Products and Systems Engineering and Enterprise Architecture
  • Management & Control (M&C) & Corporate Systems, made of teams supporting Crews and Transversal Functional Domains: Governance, T&D Operating Model Implementation, Security & Compliance, Financial Control, Sourcing & Vendor Management, Governance, and Processes
  • Technical, made of teams dedicated to IT Operations, Network, Cloud, Workplace & Cloud Productivity Services
  • Crews and Transversal Functional Domains

Crews are supported by Chapters (System Engineering, Architecture, DevOps, …) and both Technical and M&C-C teams are fully dedicated to the delivery of SCOR products, services and support.Under the operational responsibility of the IT Crew Lead, the primary responsibility of the Solution Owner is to deliver the product, in collaboration with business stakeholders, in particular the Product Owner.This position is located within the Corporate crew which manages the application portfolio for the support functions but Finance and will focus primarly on the portfolio related to

  • Legal & Compliance
  • Internal Audit
  • General Secretary

A successful Solution owner is able to influence the product roadmap in line with technical and delivery constraints. Thus, along with the Product Owner, his/her main responsibilities are to:

  • Understand the business objectives, gather functional requirements, define user experience
  • Describe the IT products roadmap and their integration with the business roadmap
  • Ensure overall quality & efficiency of service delivered, from build to run phases
  • Assist the IT Crew Lead in building the team in collaboration with the different Chapters

Responsibilities:Key duties and responsibilitiesYour mission and tasks will be:

  • Service delivery
  • In collaboration with the Product Owner: define the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) roadmap, create epics, features and user stories, contribute to prioritize the product backlog
  • Understand and be able to challenge business requirements
  • Define the release plan
  • Define the global software architecture, in collaboration with the Architecture and Cloud Chapters
  • Implement the software development good practices: design thinking, test driven development, automation, …
  • Lead software development or customization efforts using different Agile approaches (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, etc.) regardless of technology stack or platform
  • Manage service evolutions, for both evolutive and corrective maintenance and organize support activities, ensure systems availability and quality of service through clear and structured KPIs
  • Ensure good coordination of Security / Technical / Compliance teams to manage infrastructure needs
  • Follow up client satisfaction
  • Collaboration, information-sharing and innovation
  • Work with technical stakeholders to ensure overall efficient and resilient organization, architectural consistency and smooth integration of the solution into the IT landscape
  • Gather and suggest improvements in the solution including technical, security and/or efficiency gains
  • Provide PO with a strategic roadmap for the technical direction of the solution, helping PO to understand the benefit of suggested technical improvements
  • Perform an active watch on tech
  • Contribute to communities to share knowledge and expertise
  • Contribute to ICS
  • Implement and maintain key processes and controls defined in IT Internal Control Systems (ICS)
  • Support all audits in your area and potential certification projects that may be asked in the coming years

Objectives for the first year (or 2 years) * Successfully deliver the solution on time and in budget, in collaboration with the Product Owner

  • Maintain a high level of quality and performance of the solution
  • Ensure the good alignment of the IT roadmap with Business needs

Qualifications:Required experience & competencies

  • +10 years of IT project management experience and a proven delivery track record
  • Proven track record in team management as part of an international environment, in a matricial organization
  • Knowledge of the Reinsurance business and/or the financial services industry is a plus

Hard skills

  • Project management skills and strong experience in end-to-end software delivery
  • Strong architecture skills with good understanding of: microservice architecture, cloud driven, DevOps, APIs, containers, …
  • Skilled at defining and documenting business and functional requirements for ongoing system enhancement initiatives in iterative software development environments
  • Able to proactively identify risks, and drive action to mitigate and resolve issues
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage parallel complex streams
  • Experience leading all Agile ceremonies including: sprint planning, review, demo, and stand-up sessions
  • Business-driven mindset and strong appetite to understand functional context
  • Agile & project management methodology and practice
  • Fluent in English and French (written, spoken)
