Technology Solutions Architect – Application & Infrastructure 

Location: Dublin (Hybrid) — flexibility for occasional travel project sites.

Summary / Role Overview 

We are seeking a seasoned Technology Solution Architect to design and govern end-to-end solutions for complex build and migration programs involving applications, infrastructure, and associated services. This role requires deep technical expertise across cloud platforms, application architectures, identity, security and networking.
You will define application roadmaps, create target-state architectures, define interdependencies, and ensure solutions meet business, technical, and compliance requirements. Acting as the technical authority, you will guide technology teams, lead and validate designs, and ensure seamless integration during large-scale transformations.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Architecture

-Define target-state architectures for applications and infrastructure aligned with enterprise standards and business objectives.
-Develop technology plans for new solutions, migration/upgrades of existing solutions and sequencing plans for a large portfolio.
-Create solution blueprints, including network topology, identity models, security controls, and operational readiness.
-Ensure designs meet performance, scalability, resiliency, and compliance requirements.

Technical Leadership  

-Serve as the technical authority during build and migration projects, providing guidance to technology, operations, and vendor teams.
-Review and approve detailed designs, runbooks, and implementation plans.
-Conduct architecture governance and design assurance throughout project lifecycle.

Stakeholder Engagement  

-Collaborate with business owners, project managers, and technical teams to align solutions with functional and non-functional requirements.
-Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively.
-Influence decision-making on technology choices, trade-offs, and risk mitigation strategies.

Risk & Compliance

-Ensure solutions adhere to security, regulatory, and audit requirements.
-Define rollback strategies and resilience patterns for critical workloads.
-Partner with Cyber Security and Risk teams to validate controls and threat models.

Innovation & Standards

-Promote best practices in cloud adoption, automation, and DevOps.
-Contribute to enterprise architecture frameworks, reference models, and reusable patterns.
-Stay current with emerging technologies and assess their applicability to migration programs.
Core Competencies 

-Architectural Expertise: Strong ability to design complex, integrated solutions across applications, infrastructure, and cloud platforms.
-Technical Depth: Proficiency in cloud (Azure), networking, identity, security and application modernization 
-Application Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of ERP (SAP, Infor, D365 and legacy), CRM (Salesforce and legacy), EPM, corporate applications and Cloud/SaaS applications
-Strategic Thinking: Ability to balance short-term migration goals with long-term architectural vision.
-Communication & Influence: Skilled at presenting technical solutions to executives and guiding cross-functional teams.
-Problem Solving: Analytical mindset for resolving design conflicts and optimizing performance.
-Governance & Standards: Experience enforcing architectural principles and compliance requirements.
Experience & Qualifications 

-10+ years in technology architecture roles, with 5+ years focused on large-scale migrations.
-Proven experience in:

-Cloud migrations (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable)
-Data center migrations or consolidation
-Application modernization (replace/replatform/rehost)
-Identity and access management (AD, Azure AD/Entra)
-Understanding Network and Security implications
-Strong knowledge of:

-Cloud Architecture: SaaS apps, Landing zones, guardrails, RBAC, cost optimization
-Infrastructure: Compute, storage, backup/restore, DR strategies
-Security: Encryption, IAM, compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO, GDPR)
-Automation: exposeure to automation tools (UiPath, etc.)
-Certifications (preferred):

-TOGAF or equivalent architecture framework
-Cloud certifications (Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect)
-ITIL Foundation
-Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
