This position can be based at any AAK site in Europe including Zaandijk, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Hull and Karlshamn.About the roleThe Senior Electrical Projects Engineer will work on the design and implementation of electrical, automation, MES, cyber security initiatives and digital systems. This position will contribute to our global sites by providing troubleshooting efforts, develop technical documentation and specifications, participate in procurement process, cyber security initiatives and contribute to all phases in capital projects that require electrical engineering expertise. You will act as a global expert on all electrical, high voltage power, controls and automation needs, while being the liaison between the factories and global engineering experts. This individual will provide expert advice for all code and electrical safety matters for the facilities, including training and coaching of electrical technicians across the globe.Responsibilities

  • Provide optimum electrical and process control equipment facilities to meet the established objectives of the business.
  • Ensure reliability of electrical and process control hardware and software operation
  • Optimize electrical and process control systems, including hardware, software, and maintenance, to minimize costs while ensuring high levels of efficiency, safety, and quality in plant operations.
  • Maintain liaisons with other departments, disciplines and facilities to provide necessary support and expertise for the execution of capital investment projects and market and global initiatives.
  • Work closely with Group Engineering Electrical & Automation team during the planning and execution of projects, initiatives, and compliance requirements.
  • Comply with all safety and environmental regulations (Internal & External) and applicable Nestle standards.
  • Manage all technical aspects of the plant’s electrical power distribution from the utility company service entrance down through switchboards, transformers, distribution panels, etc. to all individual loads.
  • Participate in the electricity and automation engineering efforts to ensure that the design, drawings and specifications meet process requirements, are cost effective, and are in accordance with good engineering practices and AAK guidelines for all capital projects in the factory.
  • Participate and validate design of the power distribution system, motor control centers, control panels, human machine interface (HMI), instrumentation, system integration, FAS architecture and commissioning and start up.
  • Contribute to establish/ write the URS (user requirement specifications) and FDS (functional design specifications) for all projects.
  • Participate in the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and validate electricity and automation requirements.
  • Participate in Commissioning, Qualification, Validation (CQV)
  • Contribute to the project close out, including Project Defect Analysis (PDA)
  • Supervise the Project Electrical Construction and provide revised and additional drawings as requested by the
  • Construction Superintendent and the Project Engineer.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure compliance with relevant cybersecurity standards and regulations, such as NIST, IEC 62443, and ISO 27001.
  • Training and Awareness: Provide cybersecurity training and awareness programs for all employees, particularly those involved in electrical and automation systems.

About you

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the industry.
  • Proficient in PLC programming and process automation, with a solid understanding of process instrumentation and experience working with P&IDs.
  • Knowledgeable in medium voltage and electrical power distribution systems, ensuring optimal system performance and safety.
  • Experience in the food and beverages industry is a plus, though not mandatory.
  • Familiar with electrical codes, particularly NFPA (NEC), and local regulations, ensuring compliance in all electrical work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project; experience with AutoCAD is also preferred.
  • SAP experience is a bonus, with the ability to navigate and utilize the system efficiently.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with a proactive approach to assisting operations and maintenance teams in resolving day-to-day challenges.
  • A Safety Champion who takes a hands-on approach to electrical and control systems safety across the site.
  • A commitment to sustainability efforts, providing innovative solutions to drive electrical conservation initiatives.
  • Experienced in cross-functional collaboration, including aligning cybersecurity strategies with the IT department and sharing best practices to improve operational efficiency.
