Job Title:

Senior Project Procurement Manager
Department: Capital Projects (P&T – Capex)

Location:

Based in the Antwerpen area, Belgium

Onsite presence required 3 days per week (primary site: Hoboken)

Occasional visits to Olen where key stakeholders are based
*

Up to 2 days remote work possible after the onboarding period, in mutual agreement with the hiring manager

Project Summary:

The Senior Project Procurement Manager (PPM) will oversee all procurement-related aspects for capital projects ranging between EUR1-20 million. The PPM is responsible for setting and executing procurement strategies that align with both project objectives and corporate procurement standards. This role bridges the project management team and the broader procurement function to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and risk mitigation across all procurement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary Tasks:

Define and execute the procurement strategy for capital projects (EUR1-20M)

Finalize project procurement strategy at Stage Gate 3 (including tender packages, bidder lists, roles, and budgets)
*

Align strategy with project managers and key internal stakeholders
*

Deliver against procurement-related schedule and cost objectives
*

Ensure a strong commercial process from strategy to technical bid evaluations and final negotiations

Secondary Tasks:

Present strategy to internal committees (Capex Review Meeting, Steerco, etc.)
*

Ensure consistent implementation of procurement tools, standards, and processes
*

Supervise EPCm procurement and contracting staff
*

Resolve expediting and claim issues; manage risk and vendor performance
*

Control payment processes and manage cash flow
*

Document contract decisions according to corporate compliance guidelines
*

Support internal and external audits
*

Lead vendor management onsite and proactively address EHS, logistics, and workforce risks

Candidate Profile:

Technical Requirements:

5-10 years of procurement experience, with 3-5 years in a Capex environment
*

Strong legal and commercial contracting skills
*

Experience with SAP Ariba highly preferred
*

Proficiency in MS Office and general IT systems
*

Able to operate within structured procurement policies and procedures

Non-Technical Requirements:

Highly organized, open-minded, and team-oriented
*

Autonomous and result-driven with a positive mindset
*

Experienced in matrix organizations and multi-reporting lines
*

Strong communicator with leadership capabilities in international, multidisciplinary teams
*

Effective under pressure, solutions-focused, and supportive to junior staff

Education & Certification:

University degree in Engineering, Economics, or equivalent experience

Languages:

Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Additional language skills are a plus
