The Position

As a Strategy Project Manager / Strategy Project Lead in Development Strategy & Operations, you will drive key strategic projects and lead improvements initiatives across Development. This includes setting and implementing the overall strategic direction for Development by identifying new opportunities, strategic challenges, and industry trends. Other projects are focused on therapeutic areas within the Novo Nordisk portfolio and pipeline or strategic processes across functional areas.

You will be responsible for ensuring timely execution of strategic projects of high complexity. You will drive the communication towards cross-functional stakeholders including senior management, ensuring strategic alignment and buy-in. When doing so, you will act as a strategic sparring partner to the project owners and collaborate closely with colleagues in the team and various departments both within Development and across the value chain in Novo Nordisk.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you have:

-A PhD or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. medicine or natural sciences) in combination with 3+ years of relevant work experience, preferably from the pharmaceutical industry, management consulting, or from a central strategic role in a global corporation
-A strong understanding of clinical drug development
-Project management expertise with a strong track record of driving projects of a strategic nature as well as change management initiatives
-Experience with collaboration across functions and organisational levels including experience in interacting with senior management
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, equipping you to effectively communicate across various stakeholder groups
-Solid analytical skills and a strategic mindset

About the department

Development is an Executive Vice President area in Novo Nordisk with the responsibility of developing and maturing innovative treatment solutions in the form of drugs, devices, and digital companions to improve lives of people with diabetes and other serious chronic diseases, with a strong ambition to be the best in the world at doing this.

In Development Strategy & Operations, we support the Development organisation in setting and achieving its strategic aspirations. We drive and take part in strategic projects across areas and functions both within the Development organisation and across the full Novo Nordisk value chain. The position provides an exciting learning and career opportunity, given Novo Nordisk’s high growth journey, which Development plays a central role in. As a team, we deliver strong results, taking strong ownership of our deliverables. We are currently 6 colleagues in the Strategy team (within an overall area with 18 employees) with an inclusive atmosphere, and an emphasis on an having an engaging work environment.
