There are two full time, permanent roles:

  • One role will be specialising in investigating sexual misconduct and hate crime 
  • One role will be working across all misconduct cases, including sexual misconduct and hate crime

The Team: 

The Directorate of Governance and Compliance is a vibrant and diverse team of professionals providing a range of key functions and support for the University in the areas of Governance, Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety, Information Governance, Student Casework and Legal.

The Role: 

We are seeking to appoint two Student Casework Investigators.

One Investigator will specialise predominately in sexual misconduct and hate crime cases, although may also be required to investigate cases of other natures. 

Both investigators support the University to provide an effective and appropriate response to a range of student complaints and conduct issues, including sexual misconduct, domestic abuse, racism, bullying and other forms of harassment and hate crimes. 

The roles will ensure investigations into student complaints and misconduct are carried out fairly, consistently and sensitively, and will ensure that risks are identified and dealt with appropriately. The post holders will also support awareness and training in relation to key issues, as well as monitoring and analysing casework trends and themes to contribute to a continuous improvement approach.

Required Skills and Experience:

You will be an experienced professional with proven specialist knowledge of the complexities of casework relating to sexual misconduct, domestic abuse, racism, bullying and other forms of harassment and hate crimes, with significant experience of conducting sensitive and complex investigations into allegations in relation to these areas.

An understanding of relevant legislation and the ability to deal with difficult situations and conversations are essential. You will be a team player and have the ability to communicate at all levels.
