It is an exciting time to be at the University of Hull as we build our One Team culture, drive service improvement and support our students and staff to achieve their personal goals and aspirations. The University of Hull has adopted a new professional service delivery model following extensive consultation with stakeholders from across the University. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated and creative individual to join our team as a Student Information Manager.

Purpose of the role:

As the Student Information Manager, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing communication between the University and its students about the services we offer. You will be responsible for managing the communication of student information that effectively and efficiently meets the needs of a range of students and staff across a range of channels.

The role:

The successful candidate will lead on the development of the content strategy, content development, editorial/campaign calendars and channel management plans. You will be able to create engaging content and provide expert advice, options, and recommendations to stakeholders about the effective use of communications to meet their specific needs. You will monitor and evaluate statistical and technical information to support decision making in the department and elsewhere. You will be able to motivate, coach and manage a team to achieve strategic goals and manage workflows to ensure an efficient and effective communications function.

About you:

This role requires a proactive and innovative individual who can create compelling content, manage communication channels, and contribute to the overall student experience. You will have proven experience in a communications or content role and a thorough understanding of the principles, terminology, procedures and best practices of content management. The successful candidate will require strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. You will need to be highly organised and have the ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently. You will be able to engage with subject matter experts and stakeholders and be comfortable with handling data that drives continuous improvement in our student communications. The ability to mentor and coach colleagues to help them develop their skills is essential, as well as the capacity to question traditional assumptions, think laterally and create new and imaginative approaches to work. Experience of Higher Education or a student-focused environment is not essential and we welcome interest from other sectors.
