The position

As Supply Chain Director, you will lead our Drug Substance department in GCM, in which 20 dedicated and skilled Supply Chain Project Managers, Planners and Specialists are working. They encourage each other’s professional development and value a positive and fun work environment. In GCM we have the responsibility for setting up and defining the supply chains for new CMOs (Contract Manufacturing organizations) as well as the purchasing and planning of Drug Substance products from our CMOs.

In this position, you will:

-Be responsible for managing and developing the area to support a growing pipeline of projects and CMOs in operation
-Facilitate good collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders
-Ensure development of the Supply Chain Leadership team by setting direction and creating a trusting and supporting environment
-Join a fantastic team of dedicated colleagues in the leadership team, who all are working dedicated to bring external capabilities to life
You will join a team of Supply Chain experts and you will become the leader of a well-functioning team where we work and solve problems in collaboration. You will have a total of 5 direct reports of which 2 are managers and 3 are specialists.

Please note that this is a temporary position (maternity cover) for 10 months.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, we expect you to:

-Hold a master’s degree within Supply Chain Management, Engineering or any other relevant field
-Possess a substantial supply chain or logistic background
-Have a proven track record of direct people management
-Be fluent in English, both written and spoken
As a person, you are a team player and you excel in bringing people together with different backgrounds. You are an excellent mediator who thrive in making difficult matters simple and by succeeding together in an agile and exciting work day. Besides this you are a people person and it is important to you that the people you work with are happy about their worklife.
As a people manager you are empathetic, take a genuine interest in people and in making a team perform optimally. Finally, you must have strong work ethic and willingness to take responsibility for your own learning.

About the department

Global Contract Manufacturing (GCM) Drug Substance is part of Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply organisation. We are responsible for all Novo Nordisk contract manufacturing of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API’s) and intermediates to Novo Nordisk production sites across the globe. Our main office is located in Søborg, Denmark.

The primary role of GCM is to implement new projects and production at CMOs and subsequently monitor and control the production handled by CMOs, ensuring delivery of products from the CMOs to our respective customers. Our CMOs are mainly located in Europe and North America.
