We are looking for an experienced Team Leader to join our Finance and HR Systems Team. Based within the central Finance Division, Finance and HR Systems consists of three smaller teams: Support and Development, Reporting and Training. Working closely with users of all Finance and HR Systems (including ERP – Unit 4) across the University of Bristol, the team deliver excellent customer service to resolve issues, identify training needs and provide development and support with system change requests.

The Finance and HR Systems Support Team Leader heads up the Support team, line managing 6 people, and is responsible for the effective delivery of key support services across the organisation. This includes people management and skills development.  

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a key operational team to deliver high quality services with a wide range of customers and stakeholders across the University. We are interested in hearing from you if you are keen to explore and expand your experience working with a team which provides technical partnering, spanning IT, Finance, and HR governance and operational processes.

  • You will own the day-to-day operational delivery of the Support team, primarily focused on managing the incident backlog.
  • Responsible for overseeing key team activities (including daily operational tasks, system housekeeping, triage, and support clinics).
  • You will model and proactively drive a clear commitment to customer excellence, problem solving, collaborative working with stakeholders, and robust system controls as embedded within the culture of the team. 
  • You have worked in a leadership role within a Support team.
  • You have experience with performance managing and can influence and motivate a team.
  • You can deliver efficient and quality services to a range of deadlines.
  • An effective communicator, you can deal with complex issues sensitively and work collaboratively with your team, stakeholders and 3rd party support partners. 

Contract type: Fixed term until 30/04/2025

Work pattern: Full time

Grade: J

Salary: £41,732 – £46,974
