Position: Talent & Learning manager, D&U Europe Asia Pacific (EAP) – He /She

Organization

  • Line Supervisor: VP HR & Internal Communication – D&U EAP

Context

  • In collaboration with the Talent management department this position will responsible for directing & implementing career and talent management initiatives & programs to enhance Nexans transformation, to promote Nexans HR and business strategy.
  • The Talent & Learning manager will provide development activities to D&U EAP.
  • The Talent & Learning manager will assist in the implementation of programs that aim to attract, measure, develop and manage an organization’s talent pool.
  • The Talent & Learning manager will work together with HR global suggest aligning talent to training or development programs to ensure organization goals and strategy are met.

Purpose

Talent development & acquisition:

  • Leads the SPID process (Succession Planning & Individual Development) for the BG
  • Leads the Performance process of the group for the BG
  • Promotes the transformation of the group, design and implementation of the role models for main functions
  • Implements career path programs
  • Provides all External benchmarks addressing all the best-in-class innovations appropriate within the Nexans framework
  • Animates and develops the Nexans community on talent development
  • Contributes to facilitating the efficient and effective functioning of the D&U EAP HR talent network, dedicated to supporting all talent and major learning & development initiatives. Growth and development aspects will be achieved through involvement in all aspects of the Team’s daily activities by coordinating the organization and management of key data and processes.
  • Manages directly some recruitment for the BG in line with the Group staffing cell.

Learning :

  • In collaboration with the VP HR & Communication – D&U EAP this position will ensure and facilitate the Talent activities is understood by the organization and proper implemented in an effective manner which serves D&U EAP business objectives.
  • Coordinates with and utilize the experts in the organization to build a solid training program suitable to close competency gaps and further enhance the competence of the organization
  • Ensures cross functional coordination with all D&U EAP locations regarding competence development and training

Areas of responsibility

Talent responsibilities :

Support the global talent development processes at worldwide level :

  • Performance review process
  • SPID (succession plan & individual development)
  • Will participate to design a new dedicated program for high potentials
  • Will participate to design a new dedicated program for women (strong CSR policy from Nexans to promote equality in management positions)

Responsible for transversal initiatives :

  • Administers the platform for all people assessments we perform in the group (also managed through global contracts) and 360° feedback tools
  • Updates the group organigrams
  • Proposes and organizes the Group Level related publication of the nominations announcements 
  • Organizes induction programs (individual path for Key positions & the collective induction program)
  • Organizes Learning expeditions for Key positions
  • Sources and recommends external & internal experts able to join internal conferences & seminars as they relate to addressing our development and change topics
  • Manages the frame contracts with key providers: Head Hunters, recruitment companies, recruitment platforms as LinkedIn, @learning platforms, coaches and other external vendors
  • Oversees ad hoc surveys inside the organization to address & assess the topics above
  • Could lead ad hoc projects to prepare his/her next development step

Learning responsibilities :

Competence and Development

  • Executes and measures effectiveness of talent programs
  • Collaborates with talent team and managers to develop, communicate and implement training programs
  • Maintains required documentation to ensure D&U EAP`s law and regulations
  • Develops and maintain training tracking including participation, costs and return on investment.
  • Develops or ensure that criteria for evaluating training activities and regularly monitored and report to management, along with recommendations for improvement as appropriate.
  • Supports to coordinate D&U EAP manager training activities
  • Coaches and train operational departments on various aspects of the business from a HR perspective
  • Supports HRM in the performance management system, to include developing and monitoring performance evaluations, performance development plans and performance improvement plan
  • Communicates and follow-up D&U EAP and global training activities.
  • Supports and developing the competence process

Onboarding and Offboarding

  • Organizes and update onboarding/offboarding processes for employees
  • Maintains and update the manager and employee handbook that details HR Talent activities and processes
  • Continuously improve our activities
  • Ensures we have the right training in place for new employees
  • Develops the Young in Nexans program and be the HR-person in the project team/steering committee.
  • Acts as a consultant/advisor to new employees
  • Gathers employees feedback from new hires and from offboarding of employees in order to evaluate and make consecutively improvements

Communication

  • Communicates Talent Management HR-activities in collaboration with Internal communication on Intranet and other relevant channels on a timely basis

Key Interfaces

  • Local HR organization and other relevant Nexans D&U EAP departments
  • Global HR organization

Expected results

Talent :

  • Participates to the Redesign of the performance and SPID process
  • Support all the processes managed by the team; also accountable for the process’ performance:
  • Internal Succession plans
  • IDP completion
  • Retention of high potentials
  • Performance process on time
  • Improvement of Nexans image as employer externally (& internally)
  • Elimination of waste of time: optimize use of time/agenda
  • Elimination of friction/noise in the organization: good circulation of the relevant info
  • Better efficiency due to priorities being addressed on time
  • Manages the staffing of critical positions directly or via the Group staffing cell

Learning :

  • Maintains and develop a solid competence and development framework for D&U EAP
  • Together with business managers provide appropriate training and support to employees to ensure that any relevant training and development needs are satisfied
  • Has a good and solid Onboarding process in place for D&U EAP
  • Keeping up to date with developments in competence and training by benchmarking with other companies, reading relevant literature and attending relevant courses
  • Communicates well D&U EAP Talent processes in order that the organization understand and use relevant processes in an effective manner.

Requested Competencies and Qualification :

  • Knowledge of Talent Management tools & processes
  • Experience in HR processes; Familiarity with the Nexans HRIS tools
  • 5 years relevant experience with developing and deploying Competence programs/tools in an international company
  • Good communication skills
  • Digital minded, very open and comfortable with new technologies
  • Ability to quickly build relationships and work with colleagues at all levels within the business
  • Ability to work on own initiative and with business requirements while maintaining corporate HR requirements
  • Positive attitude which influences delivery to the business
  • Able to present self-confidently – interact comfortably and professionally with personnel at every level
  • Good English & French skills required – written and oral
  • High sense of confidentiality
