Copenhagen Business School invites applications for a vacant Teaching Associate Professorship at the Department of Organization.In announcing a teaching associate professorship, the department wishes to strengthen the department’s: 1) teaching skills in one or more of our academic areas; 2) pedagogical/didactical development of our teaching methods; 3) collaborations with business/external stakeholders around teaching.IOA is a longstanding international department with an ambitious and friendly atmosphere comprising currently 55 faculty, 11 PhD students, 11 postdocs and 12 administrative staff. Pursuing a problem-oriented, business-in-society-approach to studying and theorizing organizations and organizing processes at all levels, our mission is to carry out high quality research and research-based teaching characterized by empirical curiosity, methodological strength, theoretical depth, and critical thinking. Our social-scientific approach includes scholarly traditions such as organization theory, sociology, organizational psychology, science and technology studies, and political economy. We value qualitative methods highly and typically employ case studies, ethnographic methods, or social network analysis.Our research and teaching focuses upon organizing processes and their outcomes and are driven by an interest in organization and management as a practical, situated, contested and changing matter. This includes studies of private companies, public organizations, professional societies as well as NGOs. We teach within areas such as organization theory, organization analysis, human resource management, project management, change management, leadership, international political economy, and qualitative methods.Teaching responsibilities of the Department comprise undergraduate and graduate teaching as well as teaching in post-experience and doctoral education.The Teaching Associate Professorship is a permanent position with teaching obligations.To fulfill the research requirements of the position, the applicant chosen must be physically present on a regular basis and actively participate in the teaching activities of the Department as well as in shared personnel meetings on the department’s development and strategy.ResponsibilitiesTeaching, examination, and supervision in one or more of the department’s teaching areasCourse administration and developmentPromoting and developing the teaching capabilities of Copenhagen Business School and the department, including blended learning approachesPromoting CBS’ reputationQualificationsAdvanced degree in a relevant academic field (at least a master’s degree and preferably a PhD degree).Substantial teaching experience from universities or business schools in one or more of the department’s teaching areas.Documented and strong teaching qualifications.Proficiency in English (fluently spoken and written) and preferably also in Danish, but not a requirement.Publication of teaching material (teaching cases, contributions to textbooks etc.) is an advantage.Copenhagen Business School has a broad commitment to the excellence, distinctiveness and relevance of its teaching and research programmes.
