About the role:
We are seeking a highly experienced, adaptable and self-motivated Technical Manager to provide managerial leadership, direction and support to the technical services teams in Architecture & Civil Engineering and Chemical Engineering. Reporting to the Director of Technical Services, you will be responsible for a cohort of highly skilled and experienced technical staff comprising Technical Supervisors, Technical Specialists, Senior Technicians and Technicians.
The post is offered on a full time, permanent basis. The post requires full time attendance on campus, therefore hybrid or home working are not applicable to this position.

About you:
You should have substantial experience and a proven track record of managing a team of highly skilled technicians together with an in-depth knowledge of buildings, plant, equipment, utilities and process management across a wide range of subject areas within both departments. You will also be responsible for all aspects of health, safety, environmental and wellbeing issues in both departments.
You should possess an engineering degree, professional qualification or have substantial relevant professional experience in a managerial role working in an academic, research or industrial environment. In addition, you should hold a NEBOSH or IOOSH certificate or an equivalent health and safety qualification.
