Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Key roles and responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Tendering, Project Management, and Field Service teams in respect of Temporary Works

  • At Tender stage you will support the tender team in determining the scope of works, inputting to the strategy for delivering the project, raising pertinent questions to the client with respect to Temporary Works, preparing initial schedule of Temporary Works, preparing man hour estimates for TWC & TWS roles and costings for Temporary Works activities, and input to HAZID and risk reviews.

  • At project stage you will carry out the role of the Temporary Works Coordinator in line with the requirements of the CDM regulations and BS 5975, work closely with the Project team to develop the project programme, prepare and manage the temporary works register, and manage the Temporary Works process in line with the GE procedure.

  • Conducting regular site visits and site audits to ensure compliance with GE processes and statutory obligations.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following qualification and experience:

  • A degree or HND in Civil Engineering or similar Construction qualification

  • Temporary works qualification

  • Demonstrated experience as Temporary Works Coordinator

  • Experience in either design management or construction activities

  • High Voltage Substation Experience would be beneficial but not essential.

Desired Characteristics

  • The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of all aspects of the Civil Engineering and Construction industry, on a range of projects of varying size and complexity, preferably with experience of High Voltage Substations.

  • You will be confident to discuss these subjects with Clients, Designers and Contractors, and be able to propose solutions and improvements to develop successful solutions.

  • This role includes responsibilities across the North Europe region (UK and Ireland, Nordic and Benelux countries), and although predominantly UK it will include a significant amount of travel. • You will be a team player, with good communication and interpersonal skills, resilience and a self-learning attitude.

  • As a service organisation, speed of response is key to our business and the successful candidate will therefore have a high degree of flexibility, and be able to manage workloads in order to adapt to changing requirements and short deadlines.

Benefits

In return GE offers a package including competitive salary, and a flexible benefits package including private health insurance.

Working Arrangements

Flexible working arrangements including a mixture of home and office working are available, but it is anticipated that the extensive interactions necessary across multiple internal stakeholders will require the successful candidate to be in our Stafford offices on a regular basis.
