You will work within the Vehicle Engineering Department in the Thermodynamic Group and you will support the development of new calculation methodologies and you will develop part of the projects and themes proposed by the Innovation Department.In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Implementation of new methodologies to improve the accuracy of existing calculation models, in particular in the following areas (Standard Cooling Circuits, Cooling Brakes in particular for BEV architectures).
  • Implementation of new methodologies to generate Alternative Cooling Architectures (Phase Charge Cooling, H2 Engine) responding to different design constraints and highlighting strengths and weaknesses.
  • Strengthen the understanding of the thermal exchange phenomena that occur during the cooling of the braking system components by: methodological co-design activities with the supplier and numerical-experimental activity on test bench in 4WD.
  • Interface with the various performance managers (Vehicle Dynamics, Powertrain, Aerodynamics, Hybrid, Experimentation, Innovation) in order to manage the necessary inputs, both numerical and experimental, for the validation of new calculation methodologies and/or for the development of innovative concepts.

In order to succeed in this challenging role, you will ideally have achieved excellent academic results with a Master-degree in Energy or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. You should ideally have a specialization on issues of thermal exchange and applied thermodynamics. You will have gained at least 2 years’ dedicated experience on thermodynamics activities.
Matlab/Simulink is required to manage the activities. Knowledge of GT Power, AMESim or Star CCM+ is an advantage.In Ferrari you must exhibit the capability to work in a highly-dynamic and fast-changing environment, strong communication skills and accountability are important skillset to manage activities and responsibility of the role. It is important to be proactive proposing new solutions to optimize all the processes and activities.
