About the Role

SAP is seeking an exceptional Senior AI Developer to join our AI Development Tools team, where we’re revolutionizing how developers build and deploy AI-powered enterprise applications. This role sits at the intersection of developer experience, AI infrastructure, and cutting-edge tooling—combining your passion for developer productivity with the transformative power of artificial intelligence.

As a Senior AI Developer, you’ll be responsible for designing and implementing AI-empowered development tools, automation systems, and infrastructure that enable thousands of SAP developers to build intelligent applications faster and more efficiently. You’ll work on VSCode extensions, low-code AI solutions, and developer-facing tools that make machine learning accessible to enterprise application developers.

A key focus area will be SAP Fiori AI and SAP Smart Helpers—building intelligent assistants and AI-powered features that enhance the SAP Fiori experience, making enterprise applications more intuitive, predictive, and helpful for end users.

What You’ll Do
AI-Powered Developer Tooling

-Design and implement intelligent VSCode extensions and IDE tools that leverage ML to enhance developer productivity
-Build low-code solutions with graphical interfaces for integrating AI capabilities into SAP Fiori and UI5 applications
-Develop code completion, diagnostics, and intelligent assistance features using Language Server Protocol (LSP) with AI enhancement
-Create tools and frameworks for developers to easily integrate SAP Smart Helpers into their applications
SAP Fiori AI & Smart Helpers

-Design and implement AI-powered Smart Helpers that provide contextual assistance within SAP Fiori applications
-Build intelligent features that enhance user productivity through predictive suggestions, automated workflows, and contextual guidance
-Develop frameworks and components that enable seamless integration of AI capabilities into Fiori Elements applications
-Create reusable AI patterns and best practices for SAP Fiori developers
AI Infrastructure & Automation

-Create and maintain AI operations pipelines for model serving, lifecycle management, and deployment automation
-Design scalable, performant infrastructure for AI-powered developer tools and services
-Implement automated testing strategies for AI-empowered systems, including integration and end-to-end testing
-Build CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, automated workflows) for AI component deployment
System Design & Implementation

-Develop full-stack AI-powered applications using React frontends with Python-based ML backends
-Implement real-time AI features using WebSockets and modern web technologies

What You Bring
Required Qualifications

-10+ years of software development experience with increasing responsibility in large-scale projects
-Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Python for building production systems
-Proven experience developing VSCode extensions or similar developer tools
-Strong background in SAP technologies: SAP UI5, SAP Fiori tools, SAP Fiori elements
-Experience with Language Server Protocol (LSP) and intelligent code assistance features
-Demonstrated ability building low-code solutions with graphical user interfaces
-Test automation expertise: Puppeteer, Playwright, or similar frameworks
-CI/CD and automation: GitHub Actions, build tools (ESbuild, Gulp), automated workflows
-Full-stack development: React, Node.js, modern web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, WebSockets)
-Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
