Vice President, European Financial Controller
Overview:
Join our team as the Vice President, European Financial Controller and play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of financial operations across our European operations. Collaborating closely with our Global Business Services Center (GBSC), you’ll provide strategic financial advisory support to our business teams, spanning various crucial areas such as accounting, controls, deal structures, and M&A.
Role:
As the Vice President, European Financial Controller, you will spearhead the establishment and maintenance of robust financial controls while championing a culture of continuous process enhancement. Your leadership will drive the evolution of our finance organisation to better align with and support the dynamic needs of our business teams.
Responsibilities:
* Guarantee the accuracy and integrity of financials for the Region/BU, ensuring compliance with external and corporate accounting standards.
* Offer expert guidance on financial decisions pertaining to acquisitions, investments, and deal structures, while enforcing policies and procedures.
* Prepare technical accounting memorandums on complex issues, collaborating with Corporate Accounting as necessary.
* Uphold a stringent control environment through the establishment and enforcement of operational and SOX controls.
* Lead M&A due diligence and integration activities from an accounting and control perspective.
* Spearhead initiatives for continual process improvement.
* Ensure ongoing compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, proactively advising management on necessary actions.
* Provide mentorship and guidance to multiple teams, fostering cohesive teamwork and professional development.
All About You:
* Active Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant or equivalent certification is a prerequisite.
* Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Demonstrated expertise in accounting controls and financial processes within a global organisational context.
* Strong familiarity with US and Local GAAP, as well as Internal Controls and Sarbanes Oxley regulations.
* Proficiency in accounting and finance systems/software applications.
* Proven business acumen with a track record of delivering impactful solutions.
* Exceptional project management, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Ability to influence and lead effectively, driving positive outcomes.
* Capacity to integrate knowledge across disciplines and challenge existing processes for improvement.
* Market and industry knowledge coupled with strong presentation abilities.
