The Role:

 

Oxfam in syria is looking for  WASH TL To support Oxfam Syria program (respective governorate) in close coordination with line and
technical manager in the implementation of the emergency & resilience WASH activities to alleviate the
suffering of the vulnerable population affected by the ongoing conflict in Syria. This includes supporting the
development and guidance of PHE Officers in assessment, implementation & planning, supervision of
construction works, preparing BoQ with which to assist project managers in contract management within
the Syria program strategy. And to support PHP Officers in their responsibilities in planning and delivering
quality Public Health Promotion activities through data gathering and management, public health risks and
needs assessment, implementation, capacity building to staff capacity, employ community engagement.
and behavioral change approaches as means to improve risky hygiene behaviors, knowledge and
maintain the health of vulnerable affected populations

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:

Essential
• University Degree in relevant field/significant relevant years of experience at this level with
• International Agencies or NGO’s.
• Minimum 5 to 8 years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated experience of leadership, Team management and capacity building of teams.
• Competency in use of relevant technology systems (MS Office suite, financial accounting, and accuracy
skills)
• Fluency in Arabic and English (written and verbal)
• Supporting in budgeting process to include monitoring and planning

•Strong influencing and networking
• Demonstrated skills in coordination with internal/external stakeholders
• Proactive in anticipating problems
• A mature understanding of relevant issues derived from at least five years of WASH field
• experience, preferably both in relief and development with an organization similar to Oxfam.
• Good demonstrable understanding of WASH particularly soft (PHP) approaches especially
• Community Engagement
• Purpose-driven, results-focused approach who takes responsibility for her/his actions and holds
• us accountable. Able to spend 25% time in the field
