Weekend ICT Adviser

Student Services wishes to recruit enthusiastic ICT Advisers to provide front-line technical and application support to the University Library users, as well as supporting resources, facilities, equipment and technology available in the library.

You should be educated to ‘A’ level standard or equivalent and possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, including an ability to communicate directly with non-technical users.  You will need to be a competent and confident IT user with experience of IT systems and applications such as Windows, Mac OS, MS Office and the internet as well as using creative art and design software such as the Adobe Creative Suite.

Experience of working in a customer-orientated environment is essential.   Previous experience of providing student ICT support in academic environment would be an advantage but not essential, as training will be given.  

Equally important are the abilities to work as part of a team, to use your initiative and ability to work systematically, follow procedures, and take care in maintaining records and pay attention to detail.  You should be prepared to learn new skills, especially in new technology.  A First Aid qualification (or the willingness to be trained as a First Aider) would be desirable.

We are looking for cover for the following hours: –

1 x Saturday and Sunday ICT Adviser; 10am – 5pm Saturday (1 hr lunch), 1pm – 5pm Sunday; Term Time Only 

Actual salary for this position is £4,993-£5,578 per annum

1 x Saturday ICT Adviser; 10am – 5pm (1 hr lunch); Term Time Only

Actual salary for this position is £2,918-£3,260 per annum

These roles run for 29 weeks of the year, with 3 of these weeks operating as extended opening – Saturday/Sunday – 10am – 7pm
